I have extremely mixed feelings about my experience at this particular location. My two friends and I visited this location for a lunch break after an event Downtown yesterday. Upon entering, the host hardly looked at my group and did not even welcome us. He kept his head down looking on the iPad for seating, I assumed. He then grabbed menus and started walking, still without saying a single word to us. I decided to break the ice and asked him how he was doing. He said "Fine, and you?" I replied with, "We are doing great! Thanks for asking."
Once we were seated, my friends commented on how he was not friendly and seemed like he didn't want to be there. It would have been nice to receive even a little hello and a smile.
Our waitress was friendly. I asked for a blended lemonade (since that's what I always get at the Valley location) and she said they can't blend my lemonade drink. I was about to let her know that I have had it blended before, when she said she would ask the kitchen. Luckily, they were able to blend my drink. :) I appreciate that our waitress got us a basket of fries while we waited for our food to come out, since we were super hungry. She did, a few times check on us throughout our meal. :)
I asked for the bacon on my burger to be extra crispy and no pink in my hamburger meat... however, my bacon was still floppy and my burger was very pink in the middle. I ended up taking it home to microwave because I don't believe in food being thrown out and didn't want to be a burden to the cook. I also think they messed up my burger wellness with my friend's burger because her burger was well-done without any pink (but she asked for the meat to still be pink with hers).
My blended sunset lemonade drink was delicious! It has pineapple and desert pear added. The fries were good as always. The fried pickles were ok; my group commented that they were extra salty that day though.
We asked for boxes to go, but then were never asked if we wanted to order any dessert. I was actually wanting to order the mountain high Mudd pie (it is my FAVORITE dessert), but since we weren't asked, and my friends were getting anxious to leave, we decided to settle our bill.
Paying for our food at the end of our experience was a disaster. I mindlessly paid my bill using the kiosk because I trusted that it was correct. The orders of my other two friends were messed up. One friend only ordered a rootbeer float but was charged for app games and another item.
Once I got home and was able to check my emailed receipt (my phone had died before entering the establishment for lunch), I saw that I was charged for two lemonade drinks (I only ordered one) as well as two sides of queso dips, even though I only ordered one. I was wondering why my bill seemed really high. I just assumed it was due to taxes and inflation of prices.
I think from now on, I'll be visiting only the Spokane Valley location, as they have been so much friendlier even during rush dinner hours, AND I have never been charged double or incorrectly. I'm really disappointed because I have always loved Red Robin. (Maybe I will give this location...
Read moreMy husband and I used to absolutely love Red Robin. Always had the best service and awesome food! Lately, everything has completely gone downhill. The past several experiences have been horrible. The last 2 times I ate here the service was sub par. Didn’t get any refills, never checked on how the food was tasting. After the server took our order, we never saw our server again. Someone else ran out the food and got sauces and after that no one checked on refills or how the food was. Once we were done eating we paid on the kiosk and left. Never got the opportunity to see our server and tell her our food was cold. So we had to eat cold food and soggy fries. That’s super disappointing cause that’s an easy fix but we’re not going to let food go to waste that we are paying for. Tonight was the last straw. I placed an order to go and was told it would be about 18 minutes. I arrived right at the 18 minute mark and me along with two other customers did not get greeted for about 10 minutes. Servers kept walking by us standing at the hostess station and bartenders were gossiping about 15 ft away and finally one of the other customers waiting told the bartenders that we were all waiting for to go orders. The bartenders left and came back another server to ask our names to get the orders. Then another server came over and asked us our names again. Finally after 20 minutes of waiting they came out with our orders. Mine was incorrect. I ordered 1 jumpstart double with jalapeño coins and cheese sticks. But the person who took the order put it in as 2 jumpstart doubles. I also asked for a side of kids Mac and cheese instead of the pub Mac and cheese as I prefer the kids over the pub. On the phone I even clarified that it was a side of kids Mac and cheese and they confirmed yes. However when I got my order it was the pub Mac and cheese. However I had already been waiting in the lobby for 20 minutes and didn’t really want to wait any longer for them to correct the Mac and cheese. They corrected the jump start double issue which is great. But it’s just frustrating to clarify your order with the person taking orders and still have it come out wrong. My husband also dropped me off as there is no parking and had to drive around the block for 20 minutes waiting for me. But I had no idea it was going to take so long. Then when I gave the server my card he left and didn’t come back with my card. Which I find really unprofessional as people’s cards should not be misplaced or left on counters. It’s just unprofessional and makes the servers and other support staff seem careless. I am really disappointed with the service I have received lately and I have always LOVED this restaurant. So it’s a bummer that we will not be back. I have given Red Robin another shot after another shot, hoping that maybe it was a one time experience as everyone has their days and no one is perfect. But after so many unpleasant experiences, I will no longer spend my hard earned money at this...
Read moreService...wasn't good. Very hard to put a finger on exactly what the most pressing issue, but the server seemed distracted and inattentive. My fiance ordered the "spiked" alcoholic version of their Strawberry Freckled Lemonade, and if there was a drop of liquor in that drink I would be shocked. We also requested a refill of French fries after exhausting our initial allotment. A different server brought us two baskets of fresh fries about 3 minutes later (our fastest service that afternoon!). We dumped the fries on our plates and started in. About 5 min after, our original server returned with two baskets of fries, asking "Did you guys still want these?" before realizing we already were served by someone else. He also seemed rather disinterested in our table, only returning when things were empty for a good few minutes. His attitude wasn't outright rude, but it seemed as though he had more important things to do than serve his customers, even when interacting with those customers. This did not seem to be exclusive to us, as another table in the bar section with two elderly ladies was also left waiting for service to such a degree that they utilized the (evidently useless) "Ask for a Server" button on the provided tablet before we did. In fact, the only time we got a friendly attitude from the original server was when he came up to the table while we were using the tablet to leave a tip and he saw the percentage onscreen getting lower. That was the first time since receiving our food that we were even asked about our satisfaction, which seemed so obviously fake that it was laughable. To have these service issues during a busy weekend evening is understandable, to have this issue on a Thursday afternoon in a nearly empty restaurant is not. The food was rather disappointing, especially for this location. My fiance ordered the Royal Red Robin, which arrived with fries already soaking in yoke. The egg seemed undercooked, which would explain why the yoke was already busted by the time it arrived at our table. The burger itself was well seasoned, but the undercooked egg and yoke caused the bun to fall apart. The 2nd batch of fries was much better. Crispier, fresh and hot. I ordered the Smoke and Pepper burger. I have had this burger before, and remember it being served with a small side of the special pepper ketchup that is supposed to come on the burger. There was no side, however it didn't seem like there was much on the burger either. It looked like it was possibly a BBQ sauce, but may have been a ketchup with balsamic vinegar. Either way there was far too little to tell, especially for a component that was described on the menu as the main "thing" about this particular burger. The ciabatta bun held up much better than that of my fiances burger, but seemed dry with the lack of sauce. Between our poor experience today and the lackluster visits to the Valley location, we will not visit any Red Robin, especially in the...
