I was really excited to see Brick River open. I'm not a huge beer drinker but really a fan of hard ciders. The menu also sounded great.

My husband and I arrived around 6:30 on a Saturday. The place was already getting a little busy, but we got a table just fine. No one came over to great us, but we saw the bartender grab a few menus so we helped ourselves. Eventually, a waitress came over, apologized for our wait, and took our drink order. We were starving, so we put in an appetizer order right then. Imagine our surprise, when the same waitress came around 10 minutes later and asked us for our drink order.

We got drinks about 15 minutes later, a tasting flight for both of us. We both really enjoyed the Homestead Cider and the Brewer's Choice was very unique. It was a little too hoppy for my taste, but the hubby loved it.

Unfortunately, the place started filling up and it became painfully aware that the waitress was the only one. Several large groups came in after us and it wasn't long before the place was packed. It took 45 minutes before we got our appetizer. It was delicious, but we were still starving and couldn't imagine the wait to put in a dinner order. We took our check and left.

This place has real potential, but seriously, who schedules one waitress on a Saturday night? Get your...

We went to this restaurant the first time and had excellent service with some unique twist on our favorite dishes. It was so much fun we decided to go again. The second visit was like night and day. We walked in the door and got seated at the bar. There were three people working that we could see and about 5 people in the restaurant dining. We sat at the bar for 10 minutes before anyone spoke to us. The bartender was engrossed in a conversation with another patron. Finally a young lady stopped by but only to clean off the left over food on the counter. The bartender finally came over after 20 minutes of no hello, no water, no drinks. He took our drink order, then another 15 minutes later came to get our food order. We waited 35 minutes then inquired how much longer for the food and was told they were working on it should be out any minute. After another 20 minutes we asked again and he discovered that he never sent the order to the kitchen 😡. We will never step foot in this place again and warn any and everyone not to go. A complete waste of time! Not sure what happened, but your employees can cost...

Tiny brewery that offers tastings of their ciders and bistro type of foods.

The brewery has 8 ciders on their list, plus the seasonal products. Tasting starts as 6,5 per one pour, and a bundle of 4 for 12. The tasting serving is a 1/3 pint, and it is a good size to enjoy the cider. Served with a tall glass of water, you can enjoy each flavor separately. The restaurant also sells their products in a package for 8-10. They also have crafts beer list.

Ciders are light, wine like drinks. Very flavourful, made from real fruits. They are not too bubbly, nor too sweet. Many leave a nice fruitful after taste.

The place also serves bistro like foods, has a good menu, and has lots of options to choose from. The restaurant is nice, simple decor, and clean. You have a good view of their production line at the bar. They also sell their own merch...

Rarely do I sit after a meal and have to leave a review immediately. I’ve been gluten free for about three years and there are things I miss desperately, like a good waffle. They’re always so grainy and dense. Not here! This is legitimately the best waffle I’ve ever had. Not just gluten free, just the best. Period. The cider is amazing, servers are friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere is super chill. Emily, our server, could answer all our questions and was very knowledgeable. My wife had the fish and chips and the fish was also gluten free - the batter was perfectly crispy and a great fish to batter ratio. If I could give 10 stars I would.

This place is awesome. Great atmosphere and history with the building being an old firehouse. Cider is sort of hard to come by in the STL region and from the other local brewers; Schlafly and Urban Chestnut have great ciders, but they’re sparsely available outside of their taphouses. Brick River has intentions of selling their ciders to stores and other restaurants throughout the STL area. The restaurant is great and has awesome and reasonably priced food. Oh, and the ciders are AMAZING. Better than most other ciders on the market, in my opinion. Overall, a great addition St. Louis and to the ever growing food/brew scene in the city.
