Racial Discrimination at Pepper I had a very negative experience at Pepper Lounge. I am an American who went to Pepper Lounge with a group of my Indian friends, and, while we were there, my friends experienced racial discrimination.
We had been at Pepper Lounge from about 10:30 or 11 and had been dancing in the bar. It was quite a nice atmosphere at that point, and the DJ even played some pretty famous Indian songs. When the dance floor opened up, we went in there. My friends are Indian, so they prefer to dance openly in a large group. We danced on the dance floor for a while, and then, while I was at the bar, a bouncer came up to some of them and told them they had to leave because they were too drunk. In fact, no one had more than one or two drinks the whole night. I went to speak to the GM, and he told me that there had been complaints of them bumping into people. I'm not aware of them bumping into anyone, but it's a club, so that happens. Then he said, that they were jumping and kicking and that it's "just not that kind of club." That's when I became very sad and realized that my friends were being kicked out because they just weren't like everyone else. I went and got my tab and told my friends that we should leave, because we don't want to be in a place like that. A very nice bouncer tried to speak up for us. He also had an accent, and I think he was acutely aware that my friends were being asked to leave because they were foreigners. It wouldn't have mattered to me. I wanted to leave then anyway. We went to Club 15, where we had no...

But price is price, I understand that. But what I don't understand is how our entire group got scammed at the door by the bouncer. I called in 2 times that day asking about ticket sales and then again later about the price. I was told both times that I had to just pay at the door and it was a $10 cover. I was fine with that. But instead it was $20 once we got there, and even the DJ we knew playing that night said it should have been only $10. So from the front door problems, to the unfriendly staff, and price of a bottle we all felt like we will not being going back to this club again. There were 13 of us that night, and not one person wanted to come back, not just on industry night on Sunday bc of the bad experience, but also probably never again. And to top it off, I called back the next night and was told to call another time bc the weekends are you busy to take complaints. On a Saturday night at 6 I would have to take any complaints or calls at my bar. Poor employee...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIf you are looking for THE place to go out with the girls while still feeling safe to mingle, The Pepper Lounge is where you need to be. From the bouncers to the DJ, drinks, and singles, there is nothing lacking here. I went out with some friends this past Saturday to celebrate my 21st, the bouncers weāre super polite and professional (good looking as well) and were also sure to make it known to the manager, Kelly, that the birthday girl was in the building. Kelly then ensured I had the best night with two complimentary birthday shots, a refund of my personal cover charge and a souvenir cup with a nightcap to keep my drinks safe for the remainder of the evening, as well as his contact card in case I had any problems. I was absolutely blown away by the hospitality here! Kelly frequently checked in on everyone throughout the night to be sure there were no issues and seemed to keep up with his staff too. The club didnāt start to get busy until around midnight, so itās more of a late night lounge, but there was plenty of seating, staff, three bars and room to get out on the floor. Without a doubt, I will be returning for...
