I went to Applebee's for many years up here in Strongsville on 82 and my mom's going through a lot, so I took my friend up there that loves Applebee's now and it's always been a great experience. I was up there with my friend because my mom's going through a lot and I'm trying to find out what I need to do with her because my dad passed away and there's a lot going on, I spoke to a gentleman his name was Richard he was the New manager from another place and I thought he was doing a great job that's what I told him anyway, so we're having a few beers I had a couple of shots I think it was three tall glasses maybe four and two shot glasses still sober, so an old man for many years here I've been there for 5 plus I respect him for coming out there by himself struggling with his life still coming up to the bar and always drinking water I do not have a clue that the lady that was sitting next to me and my friend got offended because he made comments about the workers, what does that have to do with me I have my own problems well later on that evening she decided to make a comment and why I was cut off so I called the manager to come over and he tried to tell me there was a drinking rule unless you eat I'm like I don't think thats the case I think it's about the lady that was upset because some 80 year old guy that I respected is still living and still doing things for himself. I felt like I was just disrespected pretty hard I've been there for over 5 years and I was only there with my buddy to talk about my goals and what I can do to save my mom. It's difficult when family members don't want to get involved and I'm the only sibling that's left that is trying to save his mother. Shame on the lady that was sitting next to me my friend that took offense at the end of the night because the old man is sitting there with a glass of water at a bar and that he made comments about the workers that are not doing a great job, what the hell does that have to do with me I was just hanging out with my friend and I'm going through some hard times trying to save my mom's soul I am so done with fakes and phonies and I actually thought for so many years that The people at Applebee's were my friends and family. I love the city of Strongsville but Applebee's on 82 are nothing but a bunch of fakes and phonies and I'm sorry that the lady that was sitting next to me and my buddy got upset because the old man pissed you off because he made comments about the workers when you had no clue why I was there with my buddy. Richard the new manager you failed and I would never...
Read moreI was in this Applebee’s today and I must say things have really changed! The manager on duty was an energetic ( but perfectly pleasant and gracious) young lady named Jessica Miles, let me tell you about this phenomenal young lady, now I’ve worked in the hospitality industry for quite some Time and I’m not a fan of managers stopping by my table because usually they give the “I don’t care but I have too try vibe”, not Jessica, as soon as she asked how my meal was I could tell from her tone she was the real deal, she actually cared If our meals were prepared perfectly. I had the new chipotle chicken bowl and she was able to describe it like a chef would, literally down to the rice. She also directed me toward the dessert (caramel blonde) usually I don’t order dessert but her recommendation was phenomenally driven and I’ll be honest she enticed me to try it, almost as if I am missing out on a secret if I didn’t order this, but not annoyingly pushing me more like “you gotta try it, it compliments the entree well”! I’ve never had this type of manager engagement at an Applebee’s, usually I loath talking to a manager because it typically follows a food or drink error, not the case this time. I noticed Jessica talking to all the tables, (there weren’t too many because of COVID-19 restrictions) she was exactly the same with them, but not in a gimmicky way, more so as a manager who cares about her guests and knows we are the life blood, this element is usually missing in the fast casual restaurant scene!!!!!!! I have never met a manager walking the dining room who new so much about the food, usually they stumble when asked a question regarding allergies, ingredients etc. I know this probably won’t get read but I had to leave this review, Applebee’s definitely has a great thing going on In strongsville Ohio with Jessica. Me and my wife will be...
Read moreTo say our experience was terrible is an understatement.. we were seated fairly quickly, 5 minutes later the hostess came and took our drink ours, then said someone would be around shortly... after 20 minutes of no server coming to our table, one of my party went and told the servers that we needed someone to take our order. They said ok. Then 5-10 minutes later sent the hostess back over where she proceeded to tell us she's going to take our order because " nobody wants to take your guys order"... she says how's she's not a server so she's going to do the best she can do. I'm confused as to why none of the servers wanted to serve us. We did nothing wrong, at all. We were nice, friendly people. We asked for the manager, whom then came over and we explained the situation, she apologized, we said how we felt uncomfortable because it felt like everyone was now staring at us and she then told us to not leave to wait there, she's going to check on our food then she'll be back to talk with us.... after 10 more minutes of her being gone we just left. We wasted about 45 minutes- an hour with 3 children, 1, 4, and 7 and never even got served. All the servers continued to take everyone's orders at the tables around us but blatantly ignored us.
No, we were not sat in a none seating section. The hostess specifically said no server wanted to take our order. I've NEVER experienced this kind of service, or lack there of, in my entire life. I felt sad, embarrassed and upset about this whole situation, then to have to walk starving kids out after they were excited to eat at applebees was just awful!!
I am appald by this restaurant and have never experienced...
