Ever since Covid, Iāve noticed the selection in local stores, including the mall, all have decreased the selection of clothes. I find myself buying most of my outfits online now.
I stumbled upon this store on accident. I was unsure if the store was just meant for teenagers or if they had bigger sizes, too. I didnāt have a lot of time, but wanted to at least check it out.
Upon walking into the store, I immediately noticed how clean the store was & how there wasnāt a funky smell compared to some stores like Platoās Closet, etc.
As I walked in, I didnāt realize how big the store was. I wasnāt impressed in the amount of clothes they had, and how everything was neatly organized. They seem to have a variety of sizes. I may not be a teenager, but I have a small frame and I still wear junior clothes. At this point, I had every intention of wanting to come back when I had extra time.
When I walked further into the store, I saw 2 employees. They definitely did not seem welcoming whatsoever. They saw me walk in. They did not bother to say hello or even give a friendly smile. Thatās okay, I just ignored them & continued to walk through the store.
When I walked around, I could feel a creepy stare from the girl by the check out area. When I turned around to look at her, she gave me a blank stare. The atmosphere was very uncomfortable. I felt completely out of place. Maybe the store is only made for teenagers and thatās why I looked out of place to them?? I donāt know but unfortunately because of this encounter with employees I will not be back.
Itās too bad because Cheapskate Uptown Strongsville does look like a very nice store and I was excited to look through their clothes.
P.S. I did not read any of the reviews until after I posted mine. Honestly, I thought I was being paranoid of not being welcomed into the store but after reading these posts, the employees are lacking customer service skills.
To the owner of this business, please hire all new staff before your store goes under. Clearly, the young girls you are hiring that are paid lower wages are causing you to lose business. These girls are catty & could care less. Itās just a job to them. If so, many people are going the extra mile and posting these reviews regarding the customer service issues, clearly they are verbally telling others of their experience at your store. Therefore, youāll be losing business by word of mouth as well. Go the extra mile, pay a little bit more for your employees. Make sure they are professional and have a history of excellent customer service skills.
This store has great potential and I really hoped to come back, but I will not walk into an atmosphere where I feel out of place or uncomfortable due...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI had a previously posted review for 4 stars from early spring of this year. I just deleted it & decided to re-post a new review that is current to my thoughts/feelings of this store. I have been here multiple times and it hasn't improved. The first issue I ever had with this location is the lack of customer service. My first time there back in May 2024, I received head turns from all 3 employees working there when I walked in and I wasn't greeted, but the customers following behind me shortly after were greeted. It's definitely a personal thing. I notice many reviews about this. I still occasionally shop here, but as some reviewers have said, it gives you an uncomfortable feeling as you're shopping. I definitely feel the vibe of being watched and judged as I'm shopping and/or selling clothes. I went in today, December 9th, 2024 to sell some of my clothes. I came in at exactly 10am when the store opened and received a glance from a dark haired Asian female at the computer and once again, was not greeted. She is one I always notice is never friendly, very passive aggressive and does not say hello. She mumbled her words to me like I was inconveniencing her, and multiple times I had to say "huh?" because I couldn't hear her nor could she give eye contact. Then she proceeded to tell me that they have a two bag/bin policy, which I was unaware of but also is NOT stated on their website. The third reusable bag I had was tiny and just had some Doc Martens and a couple clothing items in there that I could not fit in my second bag. I had to take those items out and try to fit them in my other bag. Not a huge deal, but it should be put on their website if this is true. A couple customers proceeded to follow in shortly after and they were greeted. Hmm. Seems personal again. The dark haired girl should be given customer service training. There was also a tall blonde female in the store at the time as well and she is always friendly. I never have issues with her, although I will note again the glances and stares as you're shopping in the store makes it an uncomfortable and unpleasant experience. If this store had better customer service, it would be wonderful. The store is neat and clean and has a good selection of inventory, although I do question some of the items that they sell which some are old and out of style and the store as a whole seems a little overpriced. I can get the same shirt from Plato's Closet for $6...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIāve been to the store twice, once by myself and purchased 2 nice blouses. I was excited about the new store, as I have always loved places like this, such as Clothes Mentor amd Platos Closet. My daughter purchased some nice items as well. I decided to clean my closet and gathered up blouses, nice jackets and dresses. They were in great shape, hardly worn and some never worn with price tags. I was greeted well and told to look around while my items were being reviewed. Once they were finished, I returned to the counter and all my items were stuffed back in my bag and I was told they were not taking any of them due to wear and style. I paid close attention to what was on the racks, many has been āwornā with loose buttons, strings flaring off of blouses, and other imperfections and the styles were similar while others were outdated in my opinion. Then to offer if I wanted them to keep and donate to the Goodwill after I answered no on the iPad was annoying! I will take my own items to Goodwill or donate for homeless women if I chose to do so, which I have because at this point, Iām feeling that they may end up on the racks there anyway. I will continue taking my business to Clothes Mentor and Platos Closet. I agree that the store is nice as well as other comments that some of the items are over priced. Perhaps the buying policy should be more defined and less biased. Good luck with...
