⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Absolutely a Hidden Gem in Sugar Land!
I've been visiting Desi Adda regularly for the past 3 months, and I can confidently say this place serves some of the best South Indian food in town. Every single visit has been a great experience—authentic flavors, generous portions, and consistently high quality.
If you're a fan of bold and comforting Indian dishes, this spot is a must-try. Here are some of my favorites:
🍖 Mutton Ghee Roast & Chicken Ghee Roast – Incredibly flavorful, tender, and perfectly spiced. Easily the stars of the menu.
🍽️ A great selection of South Indian breakfast – Soft idlis, crispy vadas, hot mysore bondas, punugulu, and the sambar is outstanding – rich and full of flavor.
🥐 Their egg and chicken puffs are fresh, flaky, and loaded with filling – the perfect snack!
🍛 Plenty of veg biryanis and pulaos, and the Apollo Fish is a personal favorite – crispy outside, tender inside, and packed with taste.
☕ And don’t miss their Irani Chai – strong, creamy, and absolutely satisfying. It's the perfect way to end (or start!) your meal.
What really sets Desi Adda apart is the balance of quality and quantity – you get amazing food with generous portions at a great price. I’ve never gotten bored of their menu, and I always leave happy.
Highly recommended for anyone craving real Indian flavors. This place deserves way more...
Read moreThis is not a sit in dining kind of a place. Service is about taking order, getting paid and giving the food box by hand! Honestly, they can do a lot better in terms of food and can turn themselves into a viable joint. They are not differentiating themselves from other "Indian restaurants". this is just like Kiosk in a mall where they get food from somewhere and sell. not a restaurant per se. their snacks are ok to say the most. no specific character to call them out. their chutney, palli chutney? is not good. if they can cater to south indian customers, with authentic taste they can survive. If not, they need a lot of luck to be around. the location is ideal for an indian fast food joint to succeed, if only they listen to customer feedback. There was another Indian joint at the same shop before this that did not last even...
Read moreGreat Taste, But Needs Attention to Temperature
I've visited this local spot a multiple times and really appreciate having an Indian restaurant like this in our neighborhood , it's always great to support small businesses, especially for something as comforting as a daily afternoon chai.
That said, I’ve noticed consistently over the last three visits that the chai is served just warm, not hot. Each time, I had to request it to be reheated, and unfortunately, it was reheated in the microwave. While the taste is very good and authentic no complaints, there chai really needs to be served hot to be enjoyed properly.
This is just a small piece of feedback I hope they can take constructively. A little more focus on serving temperature would take the overall experience to the next level. Looking forward to coming...
