Be careful when you order online. I visit here weekly and decided I’d order the same dish that I always get but do so online so to skip the wait. I always ask for extra chicken and the online option is “extra meat”. Well, I got home and the dish was split between chicken and the extra meat was lamb. I can’t stand lamb. Simple mistake but will clarify the next time I order “extra meat = extra chicken”
Okay, what can I say? I’ve found my new favorite gyro place?
Before the office closed due to COVID, I would go at least once per week to The Halal Guys on Westheimer for my chicken gyro fix however from home, it’s too much of a drive. So I was glad to have found this place on google and just had to try it out.
The store recently opened and the area in which it is located is quite nice and easily accessible..there are plenty of indoor and shared outdoor seating available if we were in normal times so I was there for takeout.
I ordered the large Fries Platter with chicken. Large was probably too much for lunch as I was stuffed afterwards. Oh well, I’ll eat a snack for dinner tonight. The flavor of the chicken was really good and way better than what I’ve tasted from elsewhere. Fries are better when crispy otherwise they can get soggy from the meat on top. The white sauce is really nice and offsets the spicy red sauce well. The lads serving were polite and...
Read moreI'm updating my reviewing after my first and last time dining here. I normally order through door dash and have no issues. I came in to order this time and stood by the register. My wait time wasn't too long. I wasn't greeted or asked how can I help when it was my turn. I was given a dead stare. Ok, that's fine, the guy barely knows English, aah ok. I ordered and checked out, and he seemed like in a rush. He did everything so fast that it wasn't until after I paid that I noticed he rang up fries instead of the side of falafel. When I asked him, he said it was the same thing, i said no, it's a different food item. He said ok falafel. I said falafel, not fries. Then there was a price difference. He said only .17 cents difference I said no, it's more, but whatever.Falafel is $4.89, and fries are $5.99. I didn't want to make a big deal. I just wanted the right item. I got my food, and it was right, but I didn't get sauce, so I went up to get sauce, and he said it was extra charge!! Are you freaking kidding me? After just overcharging me, you want to charge me more for sauce that should come with my order?!? I'm sorry, but you lost a customer, and I ordered on Door Dash a lot, but not anymore!!!! Communication is key here!! Fix your prices on your menu. Thanks and GOOD BYE!
2 months ago: delicious and fresh flavors. Falafel reminds me of home, just the right amount of herbs...
Read moreI am sorry I had to give one star because y’all employees has the worst attitude .. I love the food , drove an hour just to enjoy the dish .. but it’s not nice to put “Barely” the right quantity and then cover it with sauce .. y’all be careful, look at how they make the plate .. fill it with rice and just put a bite of everything else.. I asked for less rice to have more veggies , NOPE.. I would rather go to chipotle or freebirds where they will listen to me .. at least make the dish the same way it’s advertised .. I am paying for it , it’s not free .. I asked the employee to put more veggies , he literally barely put a teaspoon of everything then he goes I charge you more !!! EXCUSE ME!!! I just paid for it , a note to the owner if you think the price of the plate is not enough to put the right portions of everything then raise the price don’t be cheap with customers .. I almost canceled the order and got my money back but my husband was hungry and he needed to eat .. teach your employees to listen to customers and remove their headphones when a customer is ordering something .. put the right quantity of everything otherwise you will be losing business .. I think that’s it for us with Gyro Hut , not worth the drive and the...
