⭐ 1 Star (wish I could give zero)
Walked into this newly opened restaurant hoping for some good Indian food — big mistake. I went in wanting chaat, but apparently, it’s only served in the evening. Of course, that tiny detail isn’t mentioned anywhere on their website or menu.
So we ordered a Chicken Tikka kathi Roll and a Chicken Achari Kathi Roll instead. The place was completely empty, yet our food took over 30 minutes to arrive — maybe they were still deciding what to do with the chicken.
When the food finally came, it was a small 6-inch roll (cut in half, perhaps to make it look generous) with a few potato wafers on the side. Both rolls tasted identical — filled with the same fried chicken chunks and very little shredded cabbage, all wrapped in a maida paratha. Not a trace of sauce, spice, or actual Indian flavor.
When I asked the manager, he said “That’s how we make our tikka — it’s fried.” Fantastic — because that’s exactly what everyone thinks of when they order “Chicken Tikka,” right? Fried chicken in a maida paratha.
Honestly, the chef might want to consider a crash course in cooking before charging customers. The food was bland, overpriced, and completely lacking authenticity.
If you’re craving real Indian food, this is not the place. Unless, of course, you enjoy waiting half an hour for a sad,...
Read moreThis is my second experience with this restaurant. The first time I ordered to go order over the phone number that was listed on the website. I was then told that the phone number on the website was someone’s personal number and wasn’t even the business number, and then was told half the items I wanted were unavailable. Tonight, we came in for a dine in dinner at 8:30 PM. There were only two women working the restaurant with nearly every table full of guests. Waited an hour until 9:30 PM (nothing was ready and we sat here waiting) at which point we got tired and asked for everything to go. Half the items on the menu are STILL NOT available and the service takes well over 30 minutes for just an appetizer. We will NOT...
Read moreWe visited Desi District in Sugar Land on a Monday night for dinner and tried their Dosa. The food was flavorful, and the staff’s recommendations were spot on. The restaurant was clean, quiet, and had a pleasant atmosphere. Service was attentive, and the team made sure we were well taken care of.
Since it’s a new place, they’re still fine-tuning a few things. The only feedback is that the Dosas and Sambar were served warm instead of hot, though they were clearly freshly prepared. Overall, the food was tasty, and we truly enjoyed our meal. Looking forward to going back once they refine these...
