I’m not kidding when I say I day dream of this pizza. Not only myself- but my husband and daughter as well. We visit Ouray once a year and our trips are sacred to us and now so is this pizza. We tried this place for the first time this year in August and this review is a result of me having another day dream about the pizza. The service was lovely and our waitress remembered us and our order just from one night (we went back twice). If you are to thick in the skull to read the “now hiring” sign out front and not be able to understand that the staff is stretched thin and probably overworked that is a reflection of you and not the lovely staff. I would come in the mornings to get iced coffee from here as well (the only place with good, plain iced coffee) and would often see the same staff still around at dinner. I have nothing but wonderful things to say. Try the hot honey pizza and sub pepperoni. You won’t be disappointed. Add the queso and fries and you’ll soon find yourself day dreaming as we do.

**Review Title: "A Masterclass in Disappointment"** I recently visited Colorado Boy, and it was an experience that defies belief. From the moment I walked in, it was clear that this place excels at one thing: being consistently awful. The food was a true marvel of mediocrity. Each dish was more bland and uninspired than the last, culminating in a dessert that could only be described as a tragic misunderstanding of sugar and flour. The ambiance was rounded out by the incessant hum of malfunctioning air conditioning and an eclectic soundtrack of whining pipes and muffled conversations. In summary, Colorado Boy is a shining beacon of how not to run a business. If you're looking for a place that will leave you astonished at just how bad a good place can be, look no further. One star, only because zero isn't an option. Also, the basket of Cajun Fries was 10 bucks… and weren’t Cajun. See pics for the size too. 🤯

Arrived at a very busy, chaotic time and lots of people were impatiently waiting - the system was also disorganised with plenty of Karen's skipping the queue (somehow). Not to say it was packed, but I'm guessing with limited staff, they can only successful process so many people. Our server was Autumn and she did a great job of appeasing our stress, given the long delays between being seated, having menus, drinks, etc. The pizza bread was very good but, being a starter, it arrived with the mains. This is happening far too often in the American restaurants we've visited. It means one dish's warmth must be sacrificed. If it's going to come together, at least call it a side - Autumn did apologise. We didn't try the Detroit pizza as it looks like someone just took a dump on the food, but the standard pizza was very good. Didn't have dessert as the options were quite poor.

On our visit to Ouray we stayed in Ridgway and went to the Colorado boys there and absolutely loved it. So we thought while we were in Ouray for the night we would go to the one there and it was not a great experience. We were greeted and sat by two different people because they forgot. Once we were sat my husband had to go outside and grab something from the truck and our waiter came by as though to ask for our drink order but then turned when he realized my husband wasn’t sitting anymore. And I had to call to get his attention so I could go ahead and order our drink and appetizers. This is the first time I told him our drink order. Then he walked by five minutes later and I asked for our drinks and he asked what the drink order was again (just two sodas) and we then ordered our actual food. Then ten minutes pass and we still don’t have our drinks or our appetizer and when he walks by my husband asks him for our drinks he asks YET again for our drink order (the third time now) and goes to get them and then brings the app a little later. We are not checked on once until our food comes out and the lady asks if we need anything and I ask for refills because both of our drinks are empty at this point. She was very kind and apologized and got us refills. (Our waiter still had not come by to check) he came by nonchalantly like 30 minutes into us eating and asked how it was and we said fine. We had to wave him down and ask for every refill we got. He brought our drinks to the wrong table multiple times. When we were checking out he brought us the check then went back to the iPad and got another check and came back and gave us someone’s else’s card with their check and we had to tell him we had already checked out. The pizza was burnt and he was very loud. Unprofessional...

I dislike giving 1 star reviews but our experience did not earn anything more. We chose this place because of the many great reviews. Guessing they were having front of house staffing issues. We should have known going in that this was not going to be a good experience. No hostess on entry and a group of at least 4 parties waited. A staff member came up and tried to seat several groups that were already seated. Another couple wanted to sit at open seats at the bar but were told to wait. Then minutes later they were allowed to sit at still vacant bar seats. We were seated and ordered drinks. One drink came, one did not. The server realized when walking by the error and fixed the problem. We waited patiently for the server to return to take our order. Meanwhile the couple who were waiting behind us were seated nearby and already ordered and received their food.

We ordered food, one salad came to the table, and waited for the second entree. Finally the second entree arrived. Food was obviously in the window for a long time. Fries were cold, cheese on the sandwich was completely cold. One bite of the once hot sandwich was enough and we returned the food.

The server apologized and then disappeared. We had to ask another staff member for the check.

There are lots of restaurant options in Ouray. Suggest trying...

This is a central hangout for the cognoscenti of Ridgway. Good food, beer, and staff. Guests are limited to 5 beers (was 4) so nobody gets too loud. I do, but I do that sober too and can mollify the staff and owners with chocolate. Patrick and Michael may get loud, but they're witty enough to get away with it. Elliott, their former head brewer, was very quiet and so he's long gone. Barry is a very loud reader. OK, well, so it can be loud. There's also a lot of loud cheering when owners Daniel and Dennis menace us with their pizza-hurling gymnastics. With the 74-foot-ceilings that are now legal in the county, they love throwing pizza dough way way up in the air as if they're Italians while doing stunts like backflipping, breakdancing, reciting the entire Baghavad-GIta, and kicking me out for making things up about them. Actually, the crowd cheering could be because they kick me out, often quite violently. Sue often gets in a few well-elbows and Natalie and Ellen are especially vicious. Poor lefty is still healing and I don't think Righty will ever return to his original elliptical glory. You see why I bring...
