My wife and I stay at this hotel at least once a year and 2020 definitely required two stays once in late July for the wildflowers and once in the beginning of October for the fall colors. The hotel is very clean and reasonably priced. The owners Bill and Emily Hall are a couple of the nicest folks that you could ever could hope to meet. In past years Bill would be fixing and putting out breakfast and letting everyone know the best places to go visit whetherby hiking Jeep, or car. COVID broke the breakfast this year, but hopefully it will be back soon. During the summer months there are hummingbird feeders all along the hotel walkways and you can spend hours sitting in the cool mountain air and watching them feed. If you have never heard a thunderstorm thunder through the canyon in Ouray you are definitely missing something impressive. July is a great month for a good chance of an afternoon thunderstorm although they are usually short and don't interfere with your activities. Give the Quality Inn a shot, just please make sure to leave a room for me :-)

As a regular customer of Choice Hotels, I was a bit underwhelmed by my recent stay at the Quality Inn in Ouray. This was one of the highest-priced Choice Hotel rooms I’ve ever booked—around $200 per night for a room for two people—so my expectations were understandably higher. The hot breakfast included pancakes, waffles, bread, sausage, biscuits and gravy, eggs, coffee, and juice—your typical Choice Hotels spread. However, due to the busy season, the dining area was overcrowded and couldn’t accommodate everyone comfortably. The room itself was clean and neat, with the usual amenities: fridge, AC, microwave, and coffee machine. The bed and bathroom were both comfortable. That said, there were several missing essentials that stood out: no makeup removal wipes, no shower caps, no laundry bag covers, and no body lotion. For the price we paid, I expected these small details to be taken care of. Overall, it's a decent stay in a beautiful location—but at this price point, the value didn’t quite match up.

This is a motel, not a hotel. We had a comfortable one night stay, but this property could use some updating. The location is amazing, offering a short walk to main street, where all the restaurants are. Rooms have microwave and fridge. Beds are comfortable. Parking is free. There is a complimentary breakfast, which is pretty good. There are two hot tubs on the property. I would like to acknowledge housekeeper Patty. She helped me find the ice machine, which is located to the right of the reception. There is also a vending machine and guest laundry. Ouray is a charming mountain town well worth visiting. Ouray is known as the 'Switzerland of America ' for its breathtaking scenery.

Please note that this review is in reference to my stay at Quality Inn, Ouray, CO Oct. 7 - 9, 2025. The property was conveniently located and the rooms were extremely well cleaned. However the desk personnel and management are the downfall of this property. I was called back to the desk following check-in to pay an additional fee. I showed the attendant my zero balance. He called his manager, who made multiple telephone calls and agreed that I owed nothing. He told me he needed my Choice Privileges Credit Card on record for possible incidental charges but would not make a charge. The next morning, my phone alerted me to an additional charge. After another conversation at the desk, I was told it was a mistake and would be refunded. The next morning another charge had been added. At check out I complained again and was told again that it was a mistake. However, the attendant's total of additional charges did not match the total of charges on my credit card record. I was told that he would contact his management and call me that afternoon. My phone shows no call from that afternoon until the writing of this complaint (Oct. 13). On October 10, I found yet another charge to my card by Quality Inn, Ouray, CO and immediately called Wells Fargo Bank ( the issuer of my Choice Privileges Credit Card). The customer service representative agreed that the charges were fraudlent; closed the account; and issued a dispute claim. ( There were five separate charges totaling over $300) I have been a Choice Privileges member and Card member for over 25 years and have never before been lied to multiple times and had fradulent charges applied to my card by one of your franchise's manager and employees. I am requesting that, because of the significance of this issue, this complaint be forwarded to Choice Hotels upper management. In my opinion, Choice Hotels should sever your franchise agreement with this property. They certainly do not live up to the standards I have come to expect from Choice Hotels. I hope and expect to receive a reply from Choice Hotels regarding this major problem at a property operating under the Choice Hotels logo. Thank you for your time in reading...

Seriously good value and experience.

The staff is excellent. Everyone was friendly and super helpful with whatever we had a question about. The operators and staff put a lot of care into this place and it really shows.

The rooms are very clean and up-to-date. Honestly feels like a higher-starred lodging option, based on the interior. Water pressure is good and gets to temperature quickly. Wifi is strong and good speed.

The included breakfast focused on eggs, sausage, and biscuits/gravy as the pre-made fresh food. There is also a waffle making station, bread selection, and cereal available. The free coffee was plenty fine to start the day.

As others have said, during ice climbing (winter) season, you will hear climber boots on the stairs in the morning. However, it's not all that loud - if we were not waking up ourselves for the same reason, we might not have even noticed! The A/C units make some noise, but no more than in any other standard hotel room with dedicated heating/cooling units. On the subject of sound, the in-room refrigerator is about the quietest I can recall in a hotel of any star rating - I really didn't even notice it at all.

Ouray is a fairly small town to begin with but this hotel is pretty convenient to almost anywhere you'd want to walk. It's less than 30 minute walk into the Ice Park (uphill) fully loaded and less than 8 minutes walking to any in-town restaurant or attraction.

For what we paid, this was an incredible value. Felt way more personal than any other motel style place I've stayed. Again, the folks running this place really care about doing a great job and I think they delivered on it. I will...

We recently had the pleasure of staying at the Quality Inn in Ouray, Colorado, and I can't say enough positive things about my experience. From the moment I walked through the doors, I was impressed by the warm and welcoming atmosphere of the hotel. The owners wife had it decorated with cute Autumn and Halloween décor. First the service from the staff at Quality Inn Ouray were exceptional. They were friendly, helpful, and went above and beyond to ensure that my stay was comfortable and enjoyable. Whether it was offering recommendations for local dining or providing directions to nearby attractions, their genuine hospitality made me feel right at home. The rooms at this Quality Inn were clean, well-maintained, and exceeded my expectations. The cozy and comfortable bed ensured a restful night's sleep, and the amenities provided in the room, including a mini-fridge and microwave, were incredibly convenient. Plus, the complimentary Wi-Fi worked seamlessly. The complimentary breakfast was hands down the best complimentary breakfast that we have ever had! The value for the price we paid was exceptional. Considering the quality of the accommodations, the friendly service, and the unbeatable location, We felt like we got more than my money's worth during my stay at Quality Inn Ouray. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable and welcoming place to stay in the beautiful town of Ouray, Colorado. Whether you're visiting for outdoor adventures or simply seeking a peaceful getaway, this hotel is an excellent...
