Texas Lil's Mesquite Grill — Restaurant in Temecula

My wife and I have two autistic boys, 7 and 8. My wife is a stay at home mom so she helps her daughter by watching our two grandkids (So you can imagine she looks forward to our date night). We only get date night maybe once a month or every other month. When we do get to go out we normally wind up here for drinks and Karaoke. (Been coming here for over a year) We prefer the DJ, atmosphere and crowd on Saturday nights. We came in for a date night last Saturday night and the female DJ (I believe her name is Jessica) was there, but she wasn't the DJ. The new DJ, (I believe his name was Jerod), was unfamiliar with the Karaoke program and seemed to just fumble around with it. We arrived about 9:30PM and I put my song in (I was put at the end of the list which I expected. My wife didn't sing because of how many people were there). There were a bunch of singers in front of me and was called up around 11:00PM to sing my song. Later, about 11:20PM a group of 6 people came in, grabbed a table, ordered drinks and a few of them put there names in to sing. Two of the females from that group kept going up to the DJ while the rotation was going, (I assumed to see when they would be singing) Leaning on him and pressing their half exposed breasts against him. By now, most of the people that went before me had gone again so I was expecting I would be up shortly but no, the group that came in at least 30 minutes after I sang all got to go. I went to the DJ and asked when I was up, he said there was two singers ahead of me. So my wife and I waited and when it came to my turn he called someone else. So, I went back to the DJ and asked what happened and he said he didn't know but now there are 5 more singers ahead of me. I told him to take me out of the rotation since it was already 1:20AM and we were just going to leave. So to sum up: in around 4 hours, I was able to sing 1 song. I waited and hour and a half to sing my first song when it was busy and two and a half hours when it slowed down and not be able to sing because the DJ, due to I can only guess, lack of experience, lack of professionalism, preferential treatment to flirty girls and his buddies.(his buddies all got their songs in) In all the times my wife and I have visited Texas Lil's we have never had this kind of experience with the past DJ to whom I believe is Jessica. The DJ Jerrod or whatever his name is, should stick to singing and give up DJing until he actually know how to run a Karaoke night, the software, and professionalism by not bump people up because they flirt with him. As I know it, it is first come first serve, you get placed in order of when you put your name in. My wife and I are very disappointed with how last Saturday night was ran, and it's very disheartening when we rarely get out and when we show up to somewhere we have enjoyed that has made changes for the worse to where we didn't have fun at all and dont feel like taking a chance of ruining another date night. So I guess now we will be in search of a new date night...

I came down to old town to get away. Walked up and down thinking where to go. Myself and the guest I was with came across this spot and was very excited to try some bbq and have a good deal on a drink, since others were making comments. We went in was sat down and not helped for a minimum of 15 min (the only reason why I knew this was didn't help I was hungry and I saw the 3 other tables helped before us-even when the party next to us wasn't seated until after us). Starting to hear my tummy rumble I asked for service and further explained it was our first time her and excited to try (hoping they would guide me and my guest over their many options maybe popular items-nothing of the sort happened). Since that happened I ordered one of their $5 margaritas so I can try to browse the menu, but only waited another almost 10 min for a drink that was being promoted. The restaurant was not full and bar empty with only 2 people on that side. I really tried ignoring it because I wanted to have a good afternoon/evening. I made a comment because when I finally received my drink it was watered down and not enjoyable at all. Not much of a drinker but I would have gladly taken a glass of water if even offered. After my comment it was taken back just for someone else to serve me and basically tell me that's how it is with an attitude. I would gladly changed my drink, but so disgusted by the poor guest/customer service I just wanted to leave. The whole time I was polite never rude and tried having patience even with the poor service me and my guest were having. Having friends that work as bar tenders I respect the line. Having family and close friends own and operate their own establishments, myself included, I understand the stresses some days can hold, but that doesn't mean each person should be treated with lack of service and care. I will never return, but glad the locals and others had a good time...

We're do I start lol well our plans where not to visit Texas lils but I'm glad we ended up here! Once we arrived and walked in they greeted us and sat us immediately it was a few of us 3 adults and 2 infants we my wife got 3 margaritas and baby back ribs, my 17y got the chicken strips and I got the what I thought was a a Texas burger, if you like chicken strips highly recommend them just don't get the mash potatoes but I will say that we are very picky when it comes to potatoes lol in they came with white gravy.

The baby rack ribs where meaty! It's really hard to mess up baby back ribs so the fact that I would go back just for the ribs (live 3hrs away) says a lot.

Lastly my food the burger with a special name. I can't remember the name but it was in think slices of bread, I got it with tater tots with Parmigiano (FYI its just placed on top like at olive garden) the burger had an (okay¿?) Flavor not a fan of mushrooms but that alone throw me off its not the restaurants or server's fault to be clear I had on my contacts that make it hard to read small print. Over all the meat was a bit greasy but thank God it had a good flavor or properly seasoned.

The drinks my wife got lacked consistency with alcohol she told me the first one didn't have as much as the second and the third was even better then the second. I still sent a tip to the bar keep!

Our server was amazing this young lady was Going Out of her way to make sure all our food was perfect and that our experience there was the best I am very glad we had her as a server Because she made my wife stay and she made our visit perfectI'm sure she gave her name at the beginning when we were seated but I could not for the life of me remember what her name was while we were there and by the time we were done eating I completely forgot to get her name again but she was tall slim and heavy...
