Last week I had the pleasure of finally trying this place out and honestly I was more upset that I didn’t try a lot sooner. The food had a rich taste and texture and the service was absolutely exceptional. I was on the border or 4 and 5 stars but honestly thanks to the service I was knocked out of the park. When I arrived I was helped by a nice young lady named Vivian who walked me through the whole menu and the options for the spice level and her opinion on each selection. Honestly herself and the other staff were so personable and relatable and you can tell that they were in the business of service.
Service 5/5 - From the very beginning I was greeted by Vivian, which was amazing because typically with a lot of fast food businesses in the area, especially as they get busy they tend to drown out guest walking in or single parties but not here. I walked in and let her know it was my first time and she helped me to understand the menu based off my taste and curate the right spice level to match my preferences. She was very patient and helpful especially with how busy she already was managing the whole front end. All the staff had a smile on their face and made sure to check on myself and other guest frequently.
Food 9/10 - As far as fast food goes, Houston’s has a very authentic and rich taste. I opted for the chicken sandwich, one thing I really liked about the menu was all the items are compatible with all spice levels, it’s not one of those places they just make two simple batches and serve throughout the day. My food arrived warm, buttery, and absolutely juicy from the moment I ate it. The fries seemed as if they would be overbearing because of the amount of apparent seasoning but I was actually wrong. It just absolutely worked and had a really nice tanginess when used with their sauce. May I also add my exceptional cashier also brought me my food (if you are dining into fast to quick food within the area you already know the easy go to is the name yell and move on).
Atmosphere 9/10 - Whoever designed the layout had a very clear vision of what they wanted. First let’s talk lighting, the fixtures at the registers and the dining area are completely different. The ones near the register first are brighter and have a catching design, it makes it easy to feel more awake and captivated while at the register and when you enter the lobby the color temperature is a lot warmer and dimmer and makes for a more leisure environment. The wood, surfaces and flooring were all very rustic but soft on the eye and made for more of a comfortable feel. The establishment was also kept really clean and while I was there for about 30 minutes I saw 2 employees including our friendly Vivian cleaning tables and seats 3-4 times. All the employees are younger, most likely college students and are easy to approach and very level headed and understanding.
Overall Houston TX Hot Chicken was an amazing time, even if you are going by yourself. It makes it easy to work, converse, relax, or just hang out and I really recommend this as a go to spot if you have friends looking for a place to eat. They are also very culturally aware and tapped into social media and I hear every now and then there are some sponsored events. I will definitely be coming back in larger...
Read moreI am big on reviews and considering this spot is a 4.6, I decided they were definitely worth a try. Husband and I ordered their Original Sandwhich with fries, a Strawberry Hibiscus Lemonade and Blueberry Lavendar Lemonade while we ordered our daughter the kids nugget meal. The gentleman who took our order was very friendly and the restaurant looked clean and new. Both lemonades were good but I specifically liked the Blueberry Lavendar one a bit more. They could have used some ice to make them a little more refreshing considering it was pretty toasty outside but just added some later on. Let's move on to the food. Food looked good and was very excited to try. I ordered a spice level of medium and while husband ordered the spicy. My first bite was dry as can be and had absolutely no spice. I gave it the benefit of the doubt and thought maybe I bit the skinniest part of the chicken and that it would get better. Second, third, fourth bites were exactly the same. I have had better sandwhiches from Popeyes. Thin piece of chicken which probably was the reason why it was so dry. I was really disappointed in my food and as you might be able to see from the picture, my chicken piece was the size of a chicken tender so more bread than anything. I did love the bun the chicken came on. The only thing that is saving this review is that I had a bite of my husband's sandwich and it was actually good. The chicken was thicker and juicer and definitely spicy which seems crazy because I got the medium (one step below) and felt like it had absolutely no spice. Fries were seasoned very well, some slightly over seasoned but husband enjoyed that. My daughter was not the biggest fan of her nuggets and honestly neither was I. I might give this place another try if I'm in the area but wouldn't drive 40 minutes out of my way like I did this last time. If the chicken sandwhich was more like my husbands, it might actually be a great sandwhich. For now, I would probably be more inclined to try another chicken sandwhich spot before...

For those seeking a delightful combination of sweet and savory, their waffles paired perfectly with the crispy, juicy chicken. The kids' meal options were also a hit, ensuring that young diners get to enjoy the chicken goodness in their own preferred portions.
The restaurant's commitment to quality is evident in every bite. The chicken was consistently crispy and juicy, leaving me craving more even after I thought I couldn't possibly take another bite.
