Mesquite Fresh Street Mex — Restaurant in Tempe

My go—to restaurant. I always order here and tell people to order here. Seriously, they should sponsor me lol. The food is always super fresh and delicious. The mesquite charcoal gives the food a robust, comforting, and earthy taste. The rice and beans are also well seasoned. I love how they use cabbage in the tacos to give it a nice crunch and prevent it from getting soggy. The Serrano peppers are chef’s kiss. Best sort of peppers to pair. Your typical cliche jalapeño could not stands up to that. The overall flavor to the food is a 10 /10. Portion size and customer service is good too. Make sure if you order tacos you get corn tortillas for better taste and texture. The tacos are the best item on the menu especially the veggie and chicken. Love how affordable they are. Taco Tuesday is always a steal too if you go in person. They make the food right in front of you hot off the grill. Of course everyone’s experience might be different however I would be weary listening to complaints before trying the food. Especially coming from those who AREN'T to authentic Mexican food with an infantile palate and have NOT tried the restaurant in person, more than once, or more than one item...

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Mr Mesquite Taqueria and I must say, it was an absolute delight. From the moment I stepped inside, I was greeted with warm hospitality and a fun atmosphere that instantly transported me to the heart of Mexico.

The menu at Mr Mesquite Taqueria was a bit limited, but each item is outstanding with authentic flavors of Mexican cuisine. The tacos and burritos are mouthwatering. Whether you're a meat lover or vegetarian, there is something for everyone here. The quality of the ingredients used is evident in every bite, and the flavors are perfectly balanced.

One standout item is the packed bowl. The tender, smoky mesquite-grilled chicken combined with the fresh toppings and homemade pico, guac sauce, and pickled onions created a symphony of flavors that left me craving for more. The tortillas looked amazing. My husband had the killer burrito which i could have stolen!

Our meal was the perfect start to a fabulous weekend in Tempe Arizona!

This review is strictly for the service. I Didn't get a chance to try the food. If you look at my review history I Only leave 5 star reviews. If a place sucks I just don't leave a review. I've owned 3 restaurants and understand customer service. I walked in and wasn't greeted with a "Hello" or "Welcome In" but instead I was looking at the menu for maybe 15 seconds and was greeted with "Sir are you ordering something or No"? I ordered 2 burritos and asked if could have white rice instead of Spanish and was told no. I live in the neighborhood and got a buy 1 get 1 burrito coupon in the mail so I thought it was a good way to try a new place. The same lady told me she would not honor the coupon and even though my 2 customized burritos were already made she would not accept the coupon was just going to give me the 1 and was treating me like I was some sort of criminal for even attempting to use a coupon. I dont need to be Wowed especially at a counter service shop and typically would just leave and not submit a google review but that was something else.
