Yesterday I went out during the night with some friends from outta town. I usually have a really good experience here and its fun. I have never had any problems here or at any other night club at that or have ever gotten kicked out. But last night towards the end of the night I guess security had one shoved far up there cause I was dancing with my friends on the second floor and it gets pretty packed so naturally I was getting pushed around a lot and into the barricade they had for the VIP section and I wasnt the only one I seen other people getting pushed into it. I personally don’t mind it because you know everyone is dancing it’s fine I had no problems with it. But secuirty called me out and claimed i hit him over the VIP barricade. I had no recollection of doing this at all and mind you the VIP section is so small and no where else in the building is there a ridiculous barricade in front of the DJ(mind you this barricade has no more than like 1 foot for a walk way for that area like really). I really tried not getting on that side but it is a really hard feat when I am getting shoved. Regardless he treated me like a mega threat and all I was super confused just as well as my friends. The security gets really rude towards the end of the night always it’s not the first time I seen it but it was the first time I experienced it. If you’re getting frustrated as a security guard around drunk people dancing and get really rude over something I apologized for and mind you didn’t even do and get over dramatic kicking people out maybe you shouldn’t be security because I know I wasn’t the only one. I mean what are you supposed to do when literally any sort of minuscule dancing you do in the front can land you across the barricade maybe you should change that and make a different walk way instead of in front of the DJ🤯 besides the fact that its super dangerous and is a tripping hazard. I like varsity and the music is good but last night left...
Read moreCame here on a Saturday with my best friend during my very first visit to Arizona. We were cruising around Mill street, got hungry & wandered in. It’s a multi story bar/restaurant. Ground floor appeared to be ONE the bar areas & upstairs was the full restaurant which included inside & outside seating. I loved that there were so many options for seating. We were greeted promptly by one of the girls working there & chose to sit outside right along the railing for a neat street view. We each had 2-3 drinks which were very good. For food we ordered a blackened shrimp salad with Cajun seasoning and it was ABSOLUTELY to DIE for! Can I get the recipe please? Lol. We also shared the appetizer of breaded shrimp with sliced peppers and 2 dipping sauces which again were absolutely amazing. Our server was very friendly, personable, helpful with our questions, & took the time to chat with us in the end. The only thing that didn’t go over well was that we were told once by staff before we sat down, that it was happy hour. Then as we were being sat I looked at the menu which said M-F is happy hour, so I verified with the girl that sat us, that even though it was Saturday its still happy hour? to which she replied yes. At the end when our server went to drop our bill, it was just under $100 for 2 people & no happy hour discount. I asked if anything on our bill was discounted for happy hour to which she replied, happy hour is only Monday through Friday. Wish we weren’t mislead from other staff otherwise we wouldn’t have...
Read moreI went to Varisty Tavern to watch the 49ers game. I expected it to be a full house. When we arrived we were given the option for SRO at the bar or wait in line for a table. We decided to wait in line for a table since there was only 1 party in front of us. They were seated, but we waited. We stayed in the line for 1 1/2 hours as we had a drink and watched the game on the TV set from afar. All of a sudden the hostesses grabbed their booth without connecting with us to let us know they were no longer seating guests and what the situation was. We waited the entire time literally an arm reach away, so they were well aware we were still there in line. I eventually asked a security guard if he knew why they left, because they were no longer in sight and it was a confusing situation. Unfortunately, we left since we had no luck and my spouse was getting sick for not eating soon enough with her medication. She was on the verge of throwing up outside, but thankfully Taco Bell was nearby, so we were able to get her a quick bite to make her feel better. We are considering making another attempt next weekend, but it’s still up in the air. We’ve really been looking forward to this place to watch a game and grab a bite to eat. We will get there even earlier next time and try our luck again, but if that doesn’t work then I guess we give up at this...
