I have been to this establishment twice since it has opened. The first time I want to say was within a week of opening. There were no seats at the bar because the stools had not arrived yet and the humidor had boxes still in their caliphate sitting on the floor because all the shelves had not arrived yet so needless to say there was not much of a selection so we just left. They had just opened so I figured I could not judge based off that one visit. I came back again 2/17/2018 which is after their grand opening with plenty of time for things to settle out. Sure enough stools came in and humidor was stocked with very impressive sticks. However the gentleman that escorted me in seemed to have no education on cigars. Comments like āI hear Olivia is a good cigarā were some of the warnings. Not knocking on Olivia but his opinions were based on what he heard. I didnāt bother to ask specifics on certain cigars I have not had but based on the ones I have had there definetly was a premium selection. Luckily I had brought my own just in case, however I had later found out that there are rules in restricting smoking cigars that have not been purchased at the bar. They were nice enough to allow me to smoke mine with the understanding that in the future that would not be allowed. However, I feel that if I am going to purchase a $20+ cigar that I could get some good information on it instead of from a third persons point of view. After all said and done sat to order drinks and unfortunately 4 out of the 4 scotches I requested that were on the menu they were out of. Decided to make it easy on them on the 5th attempt and requested A 12 McCallen. My friends all ordered specialty drinks which they all liked. Ordered chocolates and bruschetta which were excellent. Crowd started coming in with half the seats inside taken and it seemed like they got a little overwhelmed and we found ourselves having to wait 15 minutes after we were ready for the check. Iām hoping that this place ends the ācurseā that has plagued that building since I could remember. Think this will be the 4th or 5th business to be in this location within the past 8 years. I really look forward to having a place to smoke a cigar with a full bar at my disposal so hopefully they will be able to shake the cobwebs and get this thing up to par especially considering they are representing the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreBlend Cigar Bar, located in The Woodlands, TX, is poised as a haven for cigar enthusiasts, yet it falters in delivering the polished and refined experience one might expect from such an establishment. As my husband, a regular, has observed over time, there are critical areas in which the venue falls short, making it difficult to recommend wholeheartedly.
The staff, while passable in demeanor, would greatly benefit from robust training and guidance. Their approach to customer service borders on intrusive, often lingering near tables, engaging with conversations uninvited, or seemingly attempting to join the discussions altogether. This behavior detracts from the atmosphere of privacy and sophistication, leaving customers feeling uncomfortable and less inclined to enjoy their time. Additionally, the eagerness to clean ashtrays, refill drinks prematurely, or inquire about needs every few minutes comes across as overly zealous, rather than attentive. These habits collectively contribute to an environment that feels more forced than welcoming.
Another glaring issue is the ambiance, specifically the loud and disruptive music. While a cigar bar should aim to create an inviting environment conducive to conversation, Blendās volume levels make casual chats or professional discussions nearly impossible. Requests to lower the music are often met with reluctance or confusion, suggesting a disconnect between the staffās understanding of the clienteleās expectations and the true purpose of the space.
For those seeking a more sophisticated and polished experience, alternative options such as Kirbyās across the street or Cigar International a few miles away stand as far superior choices. These establishments not only meet but exceed expectations in service and atmosphere, offering patrons the refinement that Blend regrettably lacks.
In its current state, Blend Cigar Bar at The Woodlands, TX may appeal to those with limited expectations, but for anyone valuing professionalism, discretion, and an ambiance befitting a cigar lounge, it remains a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have been coming here ever since I turned 21 (over 2 years ago) and have always absolutely ADORED it up until my most recent visit. Normally I would walk in with my boyfriend who is 3 years older than I am, and we would either find a seat, sit at the bar, or head to the room with all of the cigars. This evening, my boyfriend and I have been on the hunt for a particular cigar, and decided to make a stop at blend to find it. As soon as we arrived, I walked in and noticed it was rather busy so I went straight for the cigar room as I usually do when I suddenly was yelled at from across the bar by an offbrand Johnny depp look alike bartender in a Hawaiian shirt. I turned back to head to the bar to see why I was yelled at and the bar tender told me he had to check our IDās which is completely understandable. Once it was our turn to have him check our IDās, I stated that I am so used to simply walking in and getting seated or choosing a cigar (so that he did not feel as if I was purposefully avoiding having my ID checked) to which he rudely responded āwell you look young so I have to check itā and upon looking at my ID and realizing I was of age, he then stated āsee you just barley made it to be able to be hereā. I felt this was completely disrespectful considering how long I have been coming here. I guess Iām just used to getting spoken to with the upmost respect with the most educated employees about cigars at Blend, that this particular bar tender caught me off guard with his attitude. Blend, do better with who youāre hiringā¦. Especially your bartenders. Would have given 1 star, but the 2 other employees who helped me out choosing a cigar, treated me the way a returning guest at Blend should be...
