By far one of the the best experiences I’ve had. Yeah there were a few taste issues (my opinion) but overall TOP TIER.
The decor and atmosphere are so freaking awesome nice chill vibes. We did not make a reservation (Thursday at 5). We were seated immediately.
Gabby was our server and was very knowledgeable and friendly. I was there with all four of my grown kids 🥰
We all ordered cocktails. Superb!! I had the Boss Lady and we all actually ordered seconds 🥰🥰 that’s how good they were. We also ordered appetizers pulled pork hush puppies and spicy chicken cheese dip. The dip was excellent. The hush puppies were bland but they were served with a sweet sauce. In my opinion the hush puppies themselves should be seasoned so you can enjoy without the sauce.
Dinner was ordered: catfish, steak, short ribs, striped bass and shrimp and grits. We also ordered a side of fries and Mac n cheese. Except for the shrimp and grits all dishes came with veggies and/or a type of risotto or potato. Everything was amazing. I personally ordered the catfish and it was cooked extremely well and seasoned. The only think in my opining that took away from the dish was it’s served with a sauce that was more sweet than savory and it just didn’t please MY tastebuds (my oldest daughter loved it so we switched dishes) she orders the striped bass and it was a nice fresh taste. Not overly seasoned but was just a nice dish. You could order it and be satisfied but you won’t be blown away by it in my opinion. It’s a solid dish. I tried my youngest daughters shrimp and grits and we both agreed that the sauce is not needed. It has a citrus zing that doesn’t compliment it well and this could be because maybe the grits aren’t seasoned. And because I make grits fabulously (my opinion) they were definitely different. I think the sauce takes away from the dish sauce is not needed if your grits are properly seasoned and cooked. But again just my opinion. I also got to try my youngest sons short ribs! AMAZEBALLS no changes needed as well as the steak…superb.
Lastly we ordered dessert..beignets and the fried apple pie!! The beignets are good but could be more airy to have that lighter touch but a solid sweet treat. The fried apple pie was the star. We think it was like a churro crust served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. OMG it was Fab.
Again my opinion…I would definitely come again. Give them a try you won’t be disappointed. Can’t wait to...
Read moreWe entered this establishment for Monday lunch. As we walked into the restaurant, we were greeted with a welcoming atmosphere with pleasant aromas filling our nose. Immediately behind the hostess stand was a full wall filled with various bottles of whiskeys. As we were seated by the hostess, we were promptly greeted by our server, who was very friendly. She took our drink order and, upon my asking about the whiskey selection, immediately took me to the whiskey wall and pulled out their whiskey bible of differing whiskeys and let me look it over to choose my drink. They had Blanton's still available, so I took advantage and ordered that drink, which did not disappoint. My wife ordered the Good Life cocktail, which was slightly sweet and refreshing. We then ordered the Pig Candy appetizer. This appetizer was amazing. I would liken it to an upgraded bacon experience. The pork belly was cooked perfectly with the fat rendered down so that the meat almost completely melted in my mouth. As my wife described, it dissolved in my mouth like cotton candy. For the entrees, I ordered the 12 Hour Braised Beef Short Ribs with a side of the Maple Brussel Sprouts. The Brussel Sprouts were soft with a slight crunch and flavorful swret maple glaze in the bottom of the dish with the added crunch of small pecan chunks. The Braised Beef Short Rib was so tender that my fork was easily able to slice through the meat. The rib was juicy and had a slight peppercorn flavor that did not overpower the natural taste of the beef rib, when added to the bed of mashed potatoes it sat on there was in addition a slight earthy flavor in combination with the rib. My wife ordered the Sugar Barrel Steak with a side of Heriloom Tomato Soup. The steak was a perfect medium cook with a slight crust on the top of the steak. The butter spread well over the top and complimented the steak and it's flavor well adding a little creamy and sweet flavor to the steak. The tomato soup was exactly as one would expect from a tomato soup. Overall, the experience was fantastic. The ambiance perfectly reflected the atmosphere this establishment was presenting. This is absolutely a place I...
