First of all, the food (after our order was corrected) was good, really good! We split the grass fed hamburger. The sweet potato chips tasted good BUT they were the bottom of the barrel and broken up to the size of about a coin!
Here's how it went down... My daughter and I arrived right at opening time with an 18-month-old baby. We purposely got there when it wasn't busy and immediately told the waiter we would need to make this trip as fast as possible (because of the attention span of the baby). We immediately said we'd like to order his food first. We said bring some chicken fingers, but she fumbled around because she didn't have paper to write it down on. She finally found some paper and wrote it down. We told her to bring out the baby's food asap, for obvious reasons.
My daughter and I ordered the burger to split. We waited (and waited and waited and waited) on our food. Took forever, but finally came out. The chicken fingers arrived with our turkey burger (which we did not order). The waitress immediately said she rang up the wrong burger but the kitchen was correcting the order. So, again we waited (and waited and waited and waited) on our correct burger. We arrived at 11:01 am, but didn't leave until 12:15 p.m. We ended up having to take the burger to go so we could leave.
When we arrived, they were having a meeting back in the kitchen. Nobody greeted us at the table for about 10 minutes.
Overall, yes the burger was good, but I'm not sure we'll go back again...
Read moreTrue Food Kitchen (TFK) is an upscale table service restaurant and bar with an eco-vibe, offering a menu inspired by health-conscious eating. The menu includes a wide variety of dishes, from pizza and burgers to salads and pancakes, and most of the food tastes pretty good. You can also enjoy cocktails, wine, or beer. This is one of the best options for vegetarian and vegan eaters in the area! However, if you're looking for genuinely healthy food, I recommend trying somewhere else. Despite the eco-friendly decor and the high-quality ingredients, the food here isn't as healthy as it appears.
I've eaten here many times, and while the calorie counts are listed and generally reasonable (though not low), be cautious of the extreme sodium content in many dishes. For example, the Loaded Fingerling Potatoes contain 6,150mg of sodium, the Bougie Blanco Pizza has 4,960mg, and the Buffalo Chicken Ranch Salad packs a staggering 8,380mg—over five times the recommended daily limit for an adult.
The restaurant itself has a great atmosphere, and the staff is friendly but often slow or disorganized, but the food is expensive. Expect to spend about $60 for a couple of salads and a drink, and it only goes up from there. While there are a few menu items with reasonable sodium levels, the hassle and cost have led me to cross this restaurant off my list. If sodium isn't a concern for you, then "Ride, boldly ride." TFK offers a cool dining experience, but it's not for those seeking truly...
Read moreThis place is amazing, and I plan to visit again soon! The staff (all wearing face coverings) is courteous, knowledgeable, and efficient. The food is excellently plated, well portioned, and exquisitely delicious! The exterior is cleaned with sufficient covered outdoor seating. The interior is well lit and tastefully decorated for a welcoming atmosphere. The tables are adequately spaced apart for physical distancing and are separated by clean partitions, which promote a semi-private dining experience; they also have integrated QR codes to access the menu and contactless ordering if desired.
The host greeted us warmly and stowed our large umbrellas. Our server, Mildred, was outstanding and genuine. She assisted my party of three with our dairy and spice allergies, as well as a picky eater of a preteen; she also quickly and thoroughly answered all questions and fulfilled our requests. The meal service flowed as a well-oiled machine; the FOH manager was visible, and she assisted the wait staff as needed.
I ordered Andy's Elixir for my beverage. I was excited to try their vegan offerings, so I ordered the Butternut Squash Pizza as my entree and the Squash Pie for dessert; I also got a half dozen of their vegan chocolate chip cookies to go. All of the items my party ordered was thoroughly enjoyed. The soft pita that accompanied the hummus was hot and freshly baked in...
