I had the pleasure of dining at The Goose’s Acre in The Woodlands recently, and I just have to share—what a gem. From start to finish, it was one of the most satisfying meals and evenings I’ve had in a long time. Ambiance & Setting As soon as I walked through, I was struck by how warm and welcoming the place felt. The decor is charmingly authentic—there’s real character in the wooden bars, the artwork, the way it feels like a pub with soul, not just another restaurant. The view of the Waterway from the outdoor patio adds such a lovely touch, especially at golden hour. Dining outdoors while cool breezes roll off the water made everything feel more relaxed and enjoyable. Service Top-notch in every respect. Our server Blake was friendly, attentive, and clearly proud of the place. Small things stood out—the way they checked in to make sure our drinks stayed full, how they guided us patiently through the menu—even when we asked a lot of questions. It didn’t feel like just a transaction, but like they genuinely cared that we had a great time. Food & Drinks This is where they really shine. I tried the their signature salad —fresh and amazing and it hit all the right notes. Another standout was their chicken wings; there’s something comforting about the rich flavors, hearty portions, and perfect balance of ingredients. For drinks, they’ve got a solid selection. I had a cocktail that was well-crafted (not too sweet, not too heavy) and paired perfectly with the food. Brunch is also a winner—brunch menu items plus bottomless mimosas make it a treat. Value & Overall Feel Portions are generous but not excessive, prices are reasonable given the quality, location, and vibe. If you’re looking for a place for a date night, gathering with friends, or a relaxing weekend lunch, The Goose’s Acre hits a sweet spot. It feels upscale without being pretentious, comfortable yet polished. What I’ll Remember Most The genuine Irish pub feel, transplanted beautifully into The Woodlands. The combination of great food, great service, and a setting that feels both special and welcoming. Overall, The Goose’s Acre exceeded my expectations. I'll absolutely be back, and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone wanting a memorable meal. If you go, I’d say don’t miss the salad or their chicken wings —and leave some room for dessert.

I love Ireland and love to try local Irish pubs. At first glance, the place looks great and a cool atmosphere. We sat on the patio by the water. The waitress was great. She was very attentive and took our order promptly. Food and drinks came out quickly. The food all looked great. I ate a few bites of my French dip sandwich which tasted very good. Started to try to eat my Parmesan fries. They were cold and broken in pieces. I dug around to find a bigger fry and found 2 half eaten shrimp tails in my fries. I immediately was put off by this and stopped eating. The waitress was very apologetic and took the food away. The service manager came over and asked what the problem was and I told him. He said we will get to the bottom of this and asked if I wanted something else. At this point, I was nauseated not knowing if I was eating used food so I said no. The rest of the people at my table, ate their food. Enjoyed it and thought it was delicious. Like I said, my sandwich was good, but the whole fry experience turned me totally off. The waitress gave me an excuse that in the prep area the tails must have came from the shrimp thst were from the bang bang tacos. Which, by the way, no one at my table was eating shrimp. She assumed that someone was making tacos and somehow the tails ended up in my fries. This does not make sense to me since it look like the tails would have been taken off after the shrimp were fried? It still looks like someone bit the shrimp off of these and threw the tails down. Like I said, the food and service was good until this happened. They did take my meal off our receipt. But I will not be back considering I don’t know if they’re serving used food or not.

Lunch: We had extremely high hopes for this pub. The atmosphere was fantastic. The server, Meagan, was friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive without hovering, which we greatly appreciated. The Jumbo Soft Pretzel was perfectly named, tasted good with a great mouth feel. My husband advised that his Original Burger was above average. My Shepherd's Pie was lackluster. While the flavor and texture of the sirloin, veg, and gravy was satisfying, the mash was subpar being runny and without texture. Thirty seconds under a salamander or a Brule torch would have upgraded the entire dish. Dessert: After our show, we returned for dessert. They weren't really busy but our waiter, Reginald, seemed quite overwhelmed. He actually dropped my husband's dessert onto the table where it splashed off the plate, he then had to wait a full 10 minutes for a replacement. The Brownie Sunday my husband ordered claimed to be served with Guinness ice cream and while it looked a bit tan he thought it just tasted like vanilla bean ice cream. They didn't offer a dessert that intrigued me so I opted for the charcuterie board. It was extremely disappointing especially at the price point. While we will probably return in the future because it is a short walk along the Waterway from the Marriott where we stay when we attend shows at the Pavilion, it will probably be for a pretzel and a drink afterwards. I also want to mention that they have an elevator but it didn't seem to be a wheelchair friendly establishment. We did not go upstairs, maybe it is more accommodating.

Where do I even begin?

My colleagues and I flew into The Woodlands for an annual industry conference this week. We decided several weeks prior to host a two night networking event for our industry partners and we came across The Goose’s Acre online. Via phone and email, I worked alongside the General Manager, Brandi, weeks in advance to come up with great options for this event.

Brandi was amazing! She helped us come up with some amazing signature drinks, arranged for event supplies shipping straight to the restaurant, and tee’d everything up for her team.

BIG THANK YOU TO THE STAFF!! Each of you made all of us look so good by going above and beyond for us!

Rick, there is no bartender like you out there! You are talented and there were so many compliments to what drinks you were making for us! Your speed is UNMATCHED! You would have thought there was a full staff behind the bar with the speed you were making the drinks! Your talent is limitless! MASTER MIXOLOGIST!

Reggie and Mallory (I finally found someone with my name!), our dedicated servers, there are no words for how amazing the two of you are. With the both of you being the “face” of Goose’s Acre with these guests, you did your management/owners proud! Your personalities and attention to detail made us want for nothing. Over the two days we worked together to put on this event, you guys went above and beyond any expectation that I could have had. From helping with setup/takedown, to mingling, making our song playlist, and just all around bringing the additional layer of fun to the event! People knew the two of you by name as you both knew theirs as well. Once again, no words for you both!

Kitchen Staff/Runners, thank you for producing such DELICIOUS FOOD at ROCKET SPEEDS!!!! My personal favorites were the Chicken Fried Chicken, Deviled Eggs, Irish Nachos, Filet Salad….ok ok…so best advice here for someone trying them out is to just close your eyes and point to anything on the menu and you will be happy!

Josh & Leo, thank you guys for supporting your staff and our guests over the two days. You all went above and beyond!

I say all this to say…GO SUPPORT SMALL BUSINESS at The Goose’s Acre! You will NOT be...

Had a terrible experience here with a large group (11 people) on a Saturday night. It took 2.5 hours to eat and pay. We reserved a table more than a week in advance but when we arrived, we were shown to two separate tables. At our request, they were pushed together but this resulted in the waitress not being able to access more than half of the party so we had to constantly pass around drinks and food. After our drinks and appetizers came, the staff was missing in action. We had to flag someone down for plates, silverware, waters, and a replacement for a drink with a fly in it. 45 minutes after our arrival, we were finally able to order our food. It took at least another 45 minutes for the food to come with a lack of service in between. When the food finally came, some of it was cold and some of the orders were incorrect. We asked to speak to a manager who came and said he would comp the cold meals as well as the drink with the fly. A side salad was missing, so he brought a large one (for free he said) to compensate. However, the woman in my group was later charged for both the salads! At this point we knew there was no way we would want to wait for dessert, were already asking for checks as we knew it would be quite a task (even though we asked when we arrived for separate bills). We waited another 45 minutes for our checks, and this is after the manager and another senior staff members were asked to help complete the task. A member of our group literally had to go up to the waitress stand and tell the staff what each of us ate, and of course the checks were still incorrect (people charged for the wrong drinks/food, waitress unaware of what food was supposed to be comped) making it a nightmare to get out of there. The manager never came back to check on the table or ensure that his promises had been fulfilled. Clearly he didn't communicate with the waitress either. Would...
