I've been a fan of Giuliano's since the early 90s, back when I lived in Torrance. Since I moved out to the San Fernando Valley, I only get to go once or twice a year when I'm nearby for work.
I stopped by today on my way back home from working in Orange County. A detour has always been a must to get my favorite Torpedo Sandwich. I got out of the car at 12:15 p.m. (on a Sunday afternoon), went directly to the counter to order my sandwich. While waiting I shopped around and got some pasta (they have a great variety of Italian products, not to mention their deli section, which is full of choices). Then I came back in front of the counter waiting for my name to be called. And waited... and waited. People would get their orders in well after I ordered mine but were lucky enough to have their orders ready in a jiffy (well not quite that fast but, 2-3-4 minutes or so). For some reason (their "system" of taking the orders ready from the kitchen onto their counter and to the customer is abysmally retarded) my sandwich was lost in the shuffle and only after I gave them my name for them to check they realize it had been there for quite a while. Needless to say, I got back into my car at 12:45 p.m.; half an hour for a freaking sandwich!
If you have time to waste, this is the place to go. Don't expect...
Read moreGiuliano's is a nice place to go they have a nice little area where you can sit down at a table and be waited on and have Italian food their ravioli and garlic bread is delicious atmosphere is nice , service isn't bad and they have lots of things that you can buy to take home like different Italian oils and cheeses and they have all different kinds of salads and desserts and stuff I'm very disappointed that they no longer carry my favorite cookie it was a square cookie with raspberry jam on it and then like white icing on top of that they were quite expensive so I couldn't afford to get too many at one time but they were delicious and I found out they're not going to carry them because they are so expensive they also have great sodas they have the old time sodas like orange and cream soda and it's delicious it reminds me of the 50/50 bars when I was a kid it was Vanilla Ice Cream in the middle and Orange popsicle on the outside delicious drink and they have the old fashioned root beer all in all it's a great place to go and their sandwiches are...
Read moreThis is one of our favorite spots to grab a sandwich or delicious Italian entre. They have an extensive menu of hot and cold sandwiches as well as pasta, soups, and specialties. They also feature a small market with unique imported items.. there is indoor and patio dining and they also do a brisk takeout business. The bakery seems to go on forever with cookies, cakes, pastries of every description.. it is a dangerous and wonderful place this bakery. I would definitely come in to Giuliano's on your "cheat day" because there are so many amazing and tasty options it is hard to skip dessert or lay off the carbs.. everything is so good you have to go for it. The antipasti salad is really good and packed with quality meat and cheese. Everything here is quality. This is a South Bay institution and the service is always very friendly and the staff is helpful and nice. We have been coming in here for a long time and they always...
