Read moreSad thing about this visit…. I just stopped to grab a snack. Read some emails before I head on to my next appointment . I ALWAYS come to this DUKE’s and have never had a problem w/ service. Not sure if the Baseball hat and tennis shoes threw them off or the fact I was alone threw them off, but it for sure threw me off their radar! I Sat down, when finally served my drinks and bread that I had to ask for 🙄, I had to then ask for utensils and a plate. I had to then turn around and stare down the waiter to get his attention… 1st strike‼️ Food gets here, I eat, I’m on my computer, I took a call however clock strikes 6pm, no one even comes to tell me HH is over and to see if there was anything else I wanted. 2nd strike ‼️ I waited 47minutes… watched another waiter goto two other tables across from me 4x ( 2x each) and tend to those patrons. I looked at the bar for my waiter, he finally comes over and asks do I want anything? Well I did, but this service is unacceptable and now I just want a manager because the Svc I am receiving compared to the patrons is horrible, what is going on⁉️ Oh but this manager- who did not even introduce himself as the manager, I had to ask who he was? Still never gave his name 😏Never asked what was wrong or how he could remedy the situation, he kept shaking his head staring at me and only offered to get me my receipt. I asked him as well as the waiter why hadn’t I received the same service as the other patrons?. I am still waiting on that answer.⁉️ Waiting staff for the Sports bar area and management for 10/20/23 proved to be biased and disgusting. I promise I will never and the monthly HH’s the girls and I do will never either….. Dukes will now...
Read moreWe haven’t been back to Duke’s since the pandemic hits. In the past, we were thrilled of their clam chowder, the shrimp and crab cocktail, and the calamari strips. We were at the mall area recently and wanted a small taste during their happy hour. The seafood cocktail was no longer in the menu, which kinda sad but understandable since there was crab in it. We ordered the Large Clam Chowder and the Calamari Steak Strip. They actually separated the clam chowder in two smaller bowls for us, which was very nice. However, the taste of it wasn’t exactly the same as I remembered from the past. Maybe I had a fonder memory to the ones before, but I remembered it to be much more flavorful and the texture was more pleasant. The one now, was salty and lack of the sweet clam flavor. The Calamari Strips were deep fried to golden, but weren’t crispy at all and kinda cold. They were also very bland, completely lacked of seasoning before or after deep fried. The lemon aioli it came with, on the other hand, was very sour. I remembered when I took the first bite with it and wondered if anyone had tasted it after they made the batch. The other sauce, more of a Japanese fusion kind, was decent. The complimentary sourdough was also very sour. Not sure if they had change the recipe or the chef. Duke’s isn’t very expensive, but as a seafood restaurant, it is obviously not cheap either. It failed to offer exquisite taste. I don’t see a reason I would come...
