The only good thing I noticed was the location. Someone needs to be hired to train this company on efficiency and customer service. This place is a hit or miss. People seem to go for the environment, but not necessarily the menu. The drinks are too sweet and the desserts do not compliment the coffee/tea. It is not difficult for people to understand that staff might be tired from the busy day. However, there are ways to speak to people in a respectful manner. There are ways to convey a message without yelling, rolling eyes, and dismissing people who are bypassing every other cafe, just to support this one. There needs to be a better system for busy evenings to keep the orders in order and ensure the orders are accurate. People seem willing to overlook the flaws of this place because of the environment. I do not see the benefit in that. Part of an experience with any company is staff interaction. Aside from that, the menu is simply sugar, and milk, and "coffee," and cake (maybe from a package)...and if you arrive when a kind staff member is working, your order will be made well. Having more than one kiosk doesn't solve the efficiency issue, if people are smooshed together trying to hear their orders over the background noise. A television with order numbers displayed (instead of several televisions with the menu) when each order is ready would make more sense. Yelling out numbers and piling all of the orders in one area (where not everyone can see, or hear) makes you wonder if the line was really worth the time to receive an order that isn't made well in the end...I think not. Overall, if they fix the efficiency issue, consistently prepare the orders well, and change the quality of the desserts (not cold cakes that are warmed and become cold again from waiting for your order to be called) I would say this is a great location to support. Otherwise, I do not believe this place is worth the wait...
Read moreDespite prominently advertising themselves as "halal" throughout their establishment, I found their practices to be contradictory and misleading.
In addition to this misrepresentation, I was taken aback by the lack of transparency regarding service fees. Upon receiving my bill, I was surprised to see an 18% service fee added without any prior warning or notification. Furthermore, although I had already given a $1 tip, my total bill for a pistachio soft serve and a pistachio latte came out to $21, with the additional service fee included.
To compound matters, I realized that I hadn't been provided with a receipt until I requested one. This lack of transparency left me feeling frustrated and disappointed.
Adding to my frustration, upon inspecting the receipt, I noticed a disclaimer stating that the $18 service charge is only applicable from 7 pm to close during Ramadan special hours. However, it is not Ramadan, making this additional charge even more perplexing and unacceptable.
It's disheartening to see an establishment promote themselves as halal while engaging in practices that contradict these principles. The discrepancy between their advertising and actions is unacceptable.
Overall, my experience at SHOTTED was tarnished by deceptive practices and lack of transparency. I strongly urge the management to address these issues promptly to regain the trust of their customers. As it stands, I cannot recommend this...
Read moreThe attitude of some of the staff is quite off putting. Both the men and woman have sassy attitudes when speaking to customers and calling orders. I will be taking my business elsewhere. The company does not represent the reviews and the orders have been made incorrectly each time. The cakes have had a stale taste. The ice cream is questionable and seems to be made with artificial ingredients. I ordered the nitro beverage and asked for no foam. The woman at the register noted that request. Once my number was called, I informed the staff that the beverage was supposed to be made without foam. The male staff member took the beverage back to be remade, only to return stating that the beverage couldn't be remade because of the machine used to make the beverage. I asked if the foam could be removed, allowing for more of the actual drink to fill the cup. (This staff member was actually calm) He apologized and said they were busy. The cup was filled with 1/3 foam. That is not what I paid for and not why I stood in line. In my opinion, it's better to support a company that focuses on providing what the customer is paying for. Better not to support a company, just because you share the same culture. Please do not take advantage of...
