We’ve been frequent customers here (usually stopping in at least once a month after work) and have always had a great experience, which is why our most recent visit was surprising. We ordered our steaks medium rare, but they arrived dry and closer to well done with hardly any pink in the middle. When we mentioned this, the explanation given was that the sunlight from our window seat was making the steaks appear well done. That was frustrating to hear, as the doneness was very clear in both look and texture.

Our server was wonderful and had the steaks remade, but the manager’s comment that they would probably come out the same because of the sunlight was disappointing. We nearly always sit in that same spot, and this has never been an issue before.

We still love this restaurant and hope this was just an off night. A little more accountability when mistakes happen would go a long way, as we’d love to keep enjoying the great food and service we’ve come...

Russell’s let me down. First let’s start with price. The quality of food versus cost makes 0 sense. The cheapest entre was over $30 and the steaks were about $60 each. That would be fine if the food was better. The service was slow to get there but she was nice so I am not going to get into that. The food itself let me down. I had the short rib and it was sooo fatty most of it was fat. My husband got the pork chop and while it was tasty…it was undercooked by a lot. My husband addressed this and so they made him a new plate instead of seeing if he wanted something else. I was finished by the time he got a new dish. They did not offer to discount or anything after this which I think is bad business after not being able to eat together and also almost getting food poisoning from raw pork. Spent around $160 before tip and I will not...

My husband and I had an excellent dinner at Russell's. Our waiter, Lance, was very attentive and did a great job. The scallops wrapped in bacon were delicious as was the french onion soup. We both had ribeyes which were perfectly cooked along with sides of sautéed mushrooms and creamed spinach. Topped off the meal with decaf coffees with Bailey Irish Cream's - perfect for a snowy night. It was a wonderful evening and we sat by the window looking out at the covered bridge (it was a bit chilly but that is what you get on a cold winter night by a window).

Overall great food and service, but steep prices. 7 dollars for hard bread with some butter was not a great start. The winter squash soup was very creamy and heartwarming, just a tad bland. The duck pot pie was very flavorful. The NY strip was pretty good, but a small portion for $57. The gratin potatoes were delicious. We sat at the bar, where we didn't have a whole lot of space. Our waitress (the bartender) was very attentive even though she was extremely busy. We spent $212.25 for three people after tax before tip.
