This was truly one of the most disappointing experiences I’ve had especially since the original location made our wedding cake.
The food is 4.5/5. The savory dishes like the spinach Feta and the Leek feta are good when it’s prepared properly (ours was not) and they do have nice quality teas. The other dishes like the Dubai chocolate croissant is also tasty. The pistachio mouse was okay.
However this was truly some of the worst service I’ve experienced in the Bay Area. They recommended our savory dishes to be hot and yet it was served cold. We had to ask them twice to heat and it was still COLD. Moreover, they had zero regard on how long we had to wait especially when we asked them reheat the food. Simply did not care. The staff there has zero regard for the customers. What was so unacceptable though was when we asked the second time for our spinach feta to be reheated they came back with it with a WET plate. Did they not even clean and wipe the plate?? They also shoved 2 of the pastries into a small plate for my wife and I which was odd and just not professional. We also saw so many other customers today feel frustrated as their orders were coming in incorrect or they also were waiting for a long time. Overall it was such a poor service experience that you felt unwelcome and they had zero regard on apologizing for the situation.
I likely won’t ever come back for dining in but may come back for...
Read moreI recently visited a new dessert place in Walnut Creek with my daughter, and it was quite the experience—a true dessert tangent, if you will. We both have a sweet tooth and love exploring interesting dessert spots, especially those with a beautiful presentation. This place did not disappoint in terms of ambiance; the location is stunning, with a well-thought-out design and comfortable seating. The warm welcome from the staff added to the pleasant atmosphere, making it a great place to unwind.
However, let's talk about the desserts. We decided to go all out and try a variety of items, but unfortunately, the flavors and textures fell short of our expectations. While the desserts were visually appealing, they lacked the taste that we hoped for. Some flavors were overpowering in essence, overshadowing the sweetness, and the textures weren't as smooth as they appeared.
As for the prices, it's important to note that you're in California, where things can be a bit bougie, and you do pay for the experience. Unfortunately, in this case, I didn't find the prices justified by the taste of the desserts we tried.
In summary, while the environment and service were commendable, the dessert experience left both my daughter and me feeling underwhelmed. We might not return for the sweets, but perhaps others with different taste preferences may find something...
Read moreVERY disappointing. I went in on a weekday and was surprised to find out that their spiral croissant is only available after 12pm. Their website said nothing about that! (Maison Benoit in Danville tells you exactly when an item would be available on their website). Their croissant didn’t look so good so I ordered the apple turnover— it was hands down the WORST apple turnover ever! Why? Because it was very tart and had no apple chunks. It seemed they like pit in some apple jam into store bought puff pastry dough. (Tip! Just go to the nearby Turkish store to buy some square puff pastry and make yourself a better turnover. That’s what I did). I do not intend on ever going back. I would only go back if I had to use their bathroom.
Since I was the only person service was good.
Also, parking...
