The Bullpen is an absolute gem for any baseball fan visiting Washington, D. C. Located just steps away from the Washington Nationals Park, this vibrant pre-game spot offers an unforgettable experience with free admission, live music, and ice-cold drinks that perfectly complement the game day excitement.
Upon entering The Bullpen, I was immediately drawn to its lively atmosphere. The open-air layout creates a fantastic social setting, buzzing with the energy of fellow fans and live music performances. The fact that there is no admission fee makes it more appealing, providing an inclusive and welcoming environment for everyone.
The Bullpen's proximity to Nationals Park is a huge advantage. It allows you to soak up the pre-game atmosphere without having to worry about rushing to the stadium. I loved being able to immerse myself in the baseball fervor while knowing that I was just a short walk away from witnessing the Nationals in action.
Overall, The Bullpen exceeded my expectations as a pre-game destination. With its free admission, fantastic live music, and refreshing drinks, it provided the perfect atmosphere to get into the game day spirit. Whether you're a die-hard baseball enthusiast or simply looking for a vibrant and entertaining experience, The Bullpen is a must-visit spot before catching a Nationals game. I can't wait to return on my next visit to...
Read moreBullpen is a great space. Regardless of the event, it's a good time. Wish they had actual restrooms instead of porta potties but it's still good.
Edit: Security wildly inconsistent. All events I've been to, they hold my pepper spray because I ride the metro over and it is a safety metro. They ALWAYS hold my pepper spray at the front. ALWAYS. This time they said the girl who held it go fired or they threw it away or she is inside and they can't find her. Whatever the story was, it was nonsense. The part that actually led me to leave a bad review is the fact that one of the security guards said that I "better give it to God" when I explained why I needed my pepper spray. Making such a statement when a Black woman is telling you why she needs a safety measure is not only unprofessional but it also makes it seem like safety is not a priority of the Bullpen staff.
Following this statement, I was threatened with a ban because I was rightfully upset about the poor taste joke. And the icing on the cake is when I finally got to the metro without my spray, another woman who was also at the same party told me and showed me that security actually LET HER IN TO THE VENUE WITH PEPPER SPRAY. Like I said wildly...
Read moreI visited to see a movie on March 12 with a couple of friends.
Pros: purchasing tickets was easy, ground and tables were clean, very nice atmosphere with porch lights, tables were far apart
Cons: RATS (you read it correctly, there are rats on the ground floor), the nachos (one thing we ordered) came an hour after we ordered, the nachos were cold when they arrived so it was like eating tortilla chips with a block of cheese, the movie screen was small and the sound from speakers was grainy so we couldn’t hear much
Overall, I was glad we left. I think it’s possible to have a good experience if you visit but maybe if you sit on the rooftop (where there might not be rats) and if have have eaten beforehand (because I think they are understaffed). Also, I probably would go to socialize and not to watch a movie because you could hardly see much with a small screen and hear much with the...
