First and last visit to this location. The hospitality of the staff needs serious work. We were seated promptly and received a friendly greeting from our server - off to a good start, but things quickly went downhill. Immediately after bringing our drinks and taking our food orders, our server went on break and nobody was assigned to our table in his absence. What's worse is that the "employee break room" is in full view of the dining area / guests (see photos included below, faces of staff were blurred for privacy) which was very disruptive to our dining experience since we were seated directly next to it and some staff were talking, laughing, and complaining / arguing loudly. Our waters ran out quickly, and nobody came to refill them. I was in eye sight of our server who was in the "break room", and watched him gesture to the coworker seated next to him to get our food from the kitchen. By the time it was brought over it was room temperature at best, and I was missing one of my items - a $5 side of bacon which looked small, floppy, and pathetic (also pictured below, which was noted to management and "fixed"). We ended up having to request our drinks be refilled. Throughout our dining experience my girlfriend noticed an up-charged item for her sandwich wasn't present. She also found a hair in her fries. When she went to the restroom, she witnessed a kitchen employee in uniform blow her nose and neglect to wash her hands before exiting the restroom. By this time our original server finally returned from break and cleared our plates. He didn't ask if we wanted any more drinks, dessert, or even our check. We ended up waiting over 15min before having to request our check (our server had passed by our table multiple times during this period and saw us with our coats on and my wallet on the table). The only positive was that our food was decent. Overall it was a very disappointing experience of a well established chain that recently opened in this location.

SERVICE: Our server Raven C. was very RUDE and UNPROFESSIONAL. Never in my life has a waitress rolled her eyes and cut us off mid-sentence when we have expressed a concern with an item served. My husband and I tried to express to Raven why our mimosas were very hard to drink with the excessive amount of mint leaves placed in it. Every sip was full of chewing mint leaves instead of enjoying the drink. When we tried to explain this to her she rolled her eyes, huffed with an attitude and cut us off mid-sentence. I am not sure how they are training staff but it's probably best that she is retrained in understanding constructive criticism to avoid product waste and use that information to propose recommendations based on customers preferences. We will be sure we NEVER receive her again on our next visit. FOOD: We went for brunch. The shrimp and grits are ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS. The sausage, bacon, veggies, and fried onions placed on top just all merry and compliment each other. You won't be disappointed with this. The chocolate chip pancakes, eggs and bacon were great too! COMPLIMENTS TO THE CHEF!! ATMOSPHERE: If you go for brunch, they have upstairs seating which is adults only but the menu is different from the downstairs menu/seating which is family friendly. We sat downstairs because that menu had items we wanted to try. UPDATE 10.5.23: A representative from this establishment contacted me to apologize regarding the level of service we received. To ensure they keep our business he resolved this matter professionally. He assured me this is not a reflection of their values so I greatly appreciate this level of commitment to their customers.

Me and a friend of mine went to breakfast last Sunday and both experienced Silver Diner for the 1st time and loved it. The food and service was amazing. I had the shrimp and grits and he had the eggs benedict. I also wanted to show out at 8:30 in the morning and had a strawberry hennessey drink that was hitting the spot... it's 5pm somewhere. đŸ„ŽđŸ˜‚ I saw outside a sign for Silver Social and found out a little information about it from the manager Brian. Silver Social is going to be a loungy space that is open until 2am. The area is located above Sliver Diner and has a stunning view overlooking the Nationals stadium. I was also told that brunch will be offered and may be starting this weekend. I also believe that i was told this area may have a different menu. I am going to go back one evening and visit the lounge soon to see what the vibe is like, but if it's anything like the staff, food, and esthetics, it will be nothing short of amazing.😁

Hello, I wanted to share my bad experience at this restaurant. I don’t ever write reviews but this was an experience I want to share. I went to this silver dinner on Wednesday at 9:30 pm with me and my friend. That night we were looking for something cheap to eat since we both get paid on Friday so we wanted to not go all out so we decided silver dinner would be cheap and a good place to sit down. We are both young black girls that just recently turned 18. However, as soon as we walked in not only we were not greeted but the hostess herself said right in our face to the other hostess she was with stating “Should we even serve them”. The hostess that said this was either white or hispanic I wasn’t able to tell, but the hostess she said this to was also black and still sat us. When the white/hispanic hostess said this i immediately made a face because i was so confused as to why she would not want to serve us and the only reason i could think of was the obvious. We are both very clean and up-kept women so it’s not as if we came in looking like we don’t have money. After we were sat we constantly got stares from the staff, and the same hostess that did not want to serve us continuously kept coming by as we were eating and we could not eat in peace when just before she was at the front so im not sure why she moved to where we were seated. I am also not sure why this hostess would want to turn away PAYING customers which we did pay in full AND my friend even left a tip out of curtsy when i INSISTED that she shouldn’t. Usually I am the one leaving tips but I never felt so disrespected for trying to purchase a meal. If any of the staff wants to reach out to know what hostess caused this I took a picture of her face so that there wouldn’t be any miscommunication. Thank you and DO NOT come here if you are a young black female, the negativity is unnecessary. I am writing this because I feel as though if we were two young white girls it would’ve never been a question if we were getting served or not. Note: Our waiter was kind and so was the black lady...
