Great little biergarten! Found out about this place from a couple of Russian friends of mine. I'm not a big beer drinker but the selection is so big that I figured I'd find something to my tastes. Luckily they had a number of sour beers on tap which suites me just fine. The place is exactly what you'd want in a hangout. It's very well lit, very clean, and plenty of comfortable places to sit down. The only person working is the bartender so you have to go up and order another drink when you're out. The night I went the bartender was a bit of a chatty cathy so i had to flag him down every time i wanted a refill but that was the only negative. One interesting thing is there are tons of board games available. So if you're there with a buddy it makes for a nice way to entertain yourselves while drinking. We played chess while we drank like good Russian boys. The music is present but not loud. It was on a 90s channel while we were there which was great for both of us. As for the cost, you're looking at about $10 per beer. Each of us had 3 beers 6 different brands in and both of our tabs were right at $30 give or take a dollar. Now that being said these were strong beers. So after 3 I was definitely feeling it and would not have opted to have another. Luckily Samurai Hibatchi is literally right around the corner and was a great place to sober up. In fact we noticed about 6 other people who had been at another table had decided to do the exact same thing. Overall it was a very pleasant experience. Both my friend and I will definitely be going back. I highly...
ย ย ย Read moreThis place stands above the competition. There are many craft beer places popping up around Houston. This one has a nice niche that makes it in its own way both better and unique. For one the selection is extremely good. There is a quality beer for all tastes here. Second they have growlers (tap beer you can take on the go). Third, and most important, the place encourages patrons to socialize. This is beer garden seating and there is frequently a great food truck outside. It is almost like a social event every time you go to get a beer. The cherry on top (for the cigar aficionados) is that one of the better cigar bars in South Houston is right next door and they allow you to bring the beer right over. If any of the previous sounds appealing, please try this place out. I always find myself wanting to go back...
ย ย ย Read moreWhat a nice place in a very unassuming shopping center. I stopped in on a Saturday to check it out and was delighted to find that they have beers on tap in addition to those in the coolers. They offer sample sizes so you're able to get a taste before committing to something you may not like. The DigitalPour app lets you peruse the selections available which is pretty cool. I suggest having one or two at the bar and taking some home to try later. Lots of interesting choices and a variety of styles of beer to choose from. Service was friendly and welcoming and the environment was very relaxed and casual. Also worth noting that the restroom was very clean. If the restroom is clean, I feel good about the cleanliness of everything else...
