Hot afternoon, iced caramel in hand. I stopped by this Starbucks expecting the usual quick caffeine fix—but the story turned out different.
While two employees were lost in their own chat, one barista stepped forward, noticed me waiting, and immediately made my drink. No hesitation, no delay. That simple gesture? Huge. It turned what could’ve been a forgettable stop into a moment of real hospitality. The kind that makes you think: yep, someone here actually cares.
The caramel macchiato she handed me was spot on—smooth, layered, just sweet enough to keep me smiling through the heat. Honestly, she deserves her own five-star rating. People like her remind you why service still matters.
Now, the flip side: the café itself. Seating is tight, not the kind of place you’d want to settle in with a laptop. And the restroom… yeah, not great. Small, not very clean, with scraps on the floor and walls that need love. It didn’t match the quality of the drink or the effort of the barista.
So here’s the truth: this Starbucks is 3 stars overall. Coffee and that one barista? 5 stars. The rest? Needs improvement. Would I come back? For a to-go coffee, absolutely. To hang out? Probably not.
But here’s the catch—you can feel the potential. With the right team focus and a little more care for the space, this spot could shine as bright as the barista who...
Read moreGreat lesson for 12 years old kids and me from this Starbucks -- Keep your receipt and don't trust their staff. Last Friday morning (March 1st), my daughter purchased a drink (mocha cold foam), and a lid for a cup. When we asked the cashier: is the lid matched the cup's, she said yes. We trusted her. My daughter paid in cash, and when she grabbed her drink, she just left the receipt in the trash can beside the waiting place. After she came back home, the lid could not match the cup. We thought, just 7 bucks, let it be; but put it in the home, it was like trash. I went to return, today (March 5th), I brought it to return. They said without a receipt I couldn’t return it. So I asked if I could make an exchange or look up the transaction. They said “no” again, no receipt, no service. Their firm and prejudiced attitude is very uncomfortable, they are assuming I was a thief trying to return a measly $7 lid. With that, I took my lid, I left. It's a really...
Read moreThe staff is not the problem. It’s the inconsistent hours. I work the same rotation each week. And some weeks I can get my coffee no problem, but more often than not, I cannot order from this location because they are closed. So I’m forced to go to the other location which also isn’t easily accessible due to traffic, and they are usually packed because only one Starbucks in all of Wenatchee is open. In a town of 36-40 thousand people, one Starbucks isn’t going to support that. If you can’t stand by your hours then at least be courteous enough to let the community know when your hours change and why they are changed. If I’m going to pay $9 for a coffee I’d like some consistency. Otherwise I think I’m going to try...
