Oct 2, 2021 My Uber passenger recommended this place to me. Lesson learned is . . . . despite the verbal recommendation, always check the reviews first.
Unfortunately, I was reading the negative reviews AFTER I placed the order.
Negatives On Devon Ave, Sabri and Usmania restaurants are serving the same price food with huge ( enough for 2 person ) portion with plenty of meat with no cheap paper plates.
After eating 2 small chicken portion IN 3RD CLASS paper plates. I had to literally dig my spoon again and again to search any chicken. That's called " search and rescue " :). "Siri" please have some proper crockery plates. Your food price is NOT cheap.
The counter guy was not wearing mask although it is mandatory by the city government. Though all kitchen guys were wearing the mask.
Positives The counter guy did some special efforts to make sure the spice level is very very low.
I realize that the management is reading the reviews and acknowledging then as well.
But I feel, they should ask the in person customers for any critical opinion. One question will go long way , 👉 " How can we improve " ?
Plus, other then apologizing online they should try to compensate with some complimentary snacks if the customer has legitimate concern.
When I am eating here. Coincidencently, the passenger who recommended also came to pick food. I didn't have guts to tell him about my disappointing experience. But atleast I was prepared since I read the reviews before the food arrived.
With this quality and quantity of meat . . . For chicken biryani , Instead of this price of $ 13, if they put $ 7 for it then I would take away my negative reviews.
Rest of my order is for my neighbors. My fingers are crossed. Thanks God my neighbors are not desi otherwise I would be embarrassed 😊
My belly is 50 % empty at the time of leaving the restaurant because I had to leave 60 % of the food due to...
Read moreAlright, here's the lowdown on Siri Indian Restaurant—my taste buds had a wild ride! Seriously, their service was on another level, even when they were about to shut down. The staff treated us like VIPs, making us feel all warm and fuzzy inside.
Let's talk food, my friend. Siri Indian Restaurant knows how to rock the South Indian dishes. The masala dosa? Out-of-this-world! Crispy on the outside, and the potato filling was drool-worthy. And don't get me started on the dal tadka—it was like a cozy hug from your taste buds with all those aromatic spices.
Now, here's the real deal—the food arrived at our table faster than you can say "hungry." Even with the joint buzzing, those kitchen superheroes didn't waste a second. It was like magic, I'm telling you!
But, hey, here's the inside scoop: stick to the South Indian goodies. The North Indian stuff was decent, but it didn't blow my mind like their Southern counterparts. If you want a taste explosion, go for their specialties.
Now, brace yourself for the Podi Idli—they took those idlis and deep-fried them to perfection. Crispy on the outside, and the flavors were on fire! But, hey, fair warning, it's deep-fried goodness, so if you're watching your waistline, be mindful.
But, let's keep it real—I gotta give a thumbs-down to their Veg Biryani. It fell flat for me, lacking the flavors and aromatic punch I was craving. Skip it and try something else, my friend.
To wrap it up, my food adventure at Siri Indian Restaurant was off the charts. Top-notch service, authentic South Indian flavors, and lightning-fast delivery—it was an experience to remember. The masala dosa, dal tadka, and Podi Idli stole the show. But, hey, forget about the Veg Biryani. So, if you're in the mood for a finger-licking South Indian feast with next-level service, head over to Siri Indian Restaurant. You won't be...
Read moreCame on a Wednesday afternoon for dinner, it wasn't busy and we were seated right away.
We ordered the shrimp vindaloo and butter chicken. The butter chicken comes either mild, medium or spicy. We ordered mild and it wasn't spicy enough it was very sweet so if you want a kick to it definitely order medium or spicy level. It was good but very sweet overall.
The shrimp vindaloo was flavorful and had a nice kick to it but wasnt super spicy since I requested for it to be mild. I enjoyed it and the basmati rice was soft and went well with the dish.
The garlic naan is unbelievable!!! Super delicious and I highly recommend trying, so good!
We also got the salt lassi which is salted yogurt and the mango lassi which is similar but with mango puree. Both were good but mango was better.
I would have given 5 stars but the lassi was not cold it was warm/room temperature which I found odd. It's yogurt and should be refrigerated and be served chilled or cold not warm/room temperature. The water on the table was self serve and was also room temperature and no ice was provided which was a bummer given how hott it is this summer. Also, the size of the entrees were relatively small for the price. The butter chicken was $13.99 and shrimp vindaloo was $17.99 very pricey. The portion size of the rice was very generous we didn't even finish all the rice but then again rice is cheap so of course they'll give more of that versus the protein. For all these reasons I had to give 4 stars.
Overall, it was $50 for two entrees, naan, two drinks. The customer service was great, the female server was friendly and went over the menu and accommodated my request for less spice in my dish.
Very hard to find parking, they have a small lot right next to 7 eleven but only a few spots available.
Will I return? Not sure, maybe I will give this place another...
