Patio Restaurant — Restaurant in West Chicago Township

Update: Returned food and owner wouldn't give me a refund. They only take cash and now I know why. Probably to many charge back. Offered me a gift card for four sandwiches out of 8. Never again will I go there.

This place is not the same! I'm a long time customer (was my mom's favorite place, so started going here as a kid). My favorite is the Italian beef dipped with gardenia peppers. First off the got order wrong and added sweet peppers. Staff normally friendly but not last night maybe they was tired from a long night.

The most important aspect of this visit was the sandwiches SUCKED! ordered 8 Italian beefs and they were all wrong. The bread was dry and tough (I asked for them to be dipped a couple times to be wet and juicy). All had sweet peppers. Also their juice that they dipped sandwiches in has changed and taste bland. Tamale boats were dried out with an old tamale and old chili. Best part of visit is that we also got a couple of hotdogs and they are still Vienna Beef hot dogs and tasted good (the reason I have them 3 stars instead of 2). Let's get it together Patios! I love Patio fries but for some reason this day they were very undercook, also I ordered gravy bread and they were buy one get one free, well I see why because the bread was very old. Although I asked for my my gravy bread to be extra dip with they did because I witness it the bread was still dry and old tasting. Patio has fell off a lot from back in the days

Update: I have visited The Patio over a hundred times and I only had that one bad experience with my food. I travel from Indiana for my classic gravy bread with cheese/peppers dipped wer, and their fries are the best I ever had. I been going there since I was a kid and they treat you...

I recently gone into this so called "family business" and let me tell you, the service I have received was not pleasant. For one, they don't acknowledge you when you come into their restaurant (not even a "hi, I will be right with you"). Secondly, the most important thing is they don't wear gloves, doesn't matter how many times you washed your hands, it's common sense when handling food, you should always always wear gloves. Lastly, they dont accept debit or credit. I avoid coming to this restaurant as much as possible. As should everyone else. There are better restaurants on Taylor that have a more...
