Choupette CRÊPERIE-BAR À VIN — Restaurant in Westport

Looks great, and was looking forward to getting hot chocolate, as my daughter said since I would be in Westport, that I had to get it as it was delicious.

When I walked in there a few minutes after 3pm, the two people that were working there said they were closing early as there were “staff issues”. I said that’s fine, not looking to sit and eat, just have a cup of hot chocolate to go. The young lady there said “I just said we’re closed”. I was a bit taken aback as there were customers eating, and I reiterated I didn’t want it to stay, just to go. Then a gentleman that worked there said “she just told you, we’re closed”. No “I’m sorry”, or any type of explanation. Maybe neither knew how to make hot chocolate. I don’t know, just strange that it was “closed” while customers were still there, no rationale given, and the reason for my deciding to give them a poor review is due to the employees lack of communication and basically poor customer service. Had they offered a simple “sorry about the situation, hopefully you’ll come back”, I would have left disappointed but understanding and most likely would. This place is a true gem for crepe lovers. The food is absolutely delicious — fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. What really stood out to me, though, was the staff: incredibly polite, professional, and genuinely attentive. They bring a lovely energy to the space that makes the experience even more enjoyable.

The atmosphere has a distinct French charm, with thoughtful details throughout — French books you can flip through, elegant decor, and a cozy, welcoming vibe that makes you want to linger.

If I had to point out one downside, it would be the noise level. It wasn’t crowded when I visited, but there was a noticeable background noise — perhaps from the kitchen or just general activity — that made it a bit hard to fully relax. Not a dealbreaker, but something to be aware of if you’re looking for a quiet spot.

I came here with my family, and I’m genuinely impressed by the atmosphere, the impeccable service, and—naturally—the food. Each dish is so beautifully balanced that the flavors don’t just complement each other… they practically hold hands and sing.
