Great job to the owner for keeping a clean bakery.
The staff is polite and friendly. One girl looked stupid and she waited on me and messed up my order. Didn't give me my coffee cups, and missed a few donuts. Didn't see her the next day. Good job.
They don't make their own filling. Noticed buckets of cream cheese in the back.
UPDATE: went there a few weeks ago for my apple fritter and it was over fried and filled with oil. I was squeezing the oil out. They shouldn't have been sold (I ordered a few) and should have been trashed. I don't like that they sold them because they looked burnt and dark. Not like their usually appearance, which makes me think she doesn't care and since they were made, they need to be sold.
The owner knows her product and when I looked at them they looked over fried, but I bought them anyway. The muffins were very dry, too dry.
Maryanne's in Stone Harbor has a better product, it's just a distance to travel for a donut fix, but worth it. Barry's Bun is also great.
I am hoping the quality at Britton's doesn't drop, but the owner should have pulled those fritters. She knows what they should look like and they were burnt looking on the shelf. She should also taste some of the product to make sure it lives up to the Britton name.
Read the recent reviews about their freshness. Might be going downhill.
Meanwhile, make a trip to Maryanne Pastry in Stone Harbor (better donuts) or Barry's buns for...
Read moreI've been wanting to stop in for a while especially after trying their donut in Cone Crazy's donutwich and finally got a chance this year. I took a walk here with my daughter, niece, and nephew. It was about a 15-20 minute walk for us but it was well worth the effort. Everyone loved the donuts they got and I thought the raspberry white chocolate scone, glorious morning muffin, and apple fritters + other donuts we shared were also pretty great. Awesome baked goods and amazing people! I see why people make it a tradition to come by and could see us doing the same. We'll definitely stop by again and if there's any pop-ups this year we'll have more than enough reason to come back down in...
Read moreBritton’s truly has the best apple fritters—crispy on the outside, soft and sweet on the inside, and absolutely worth getting there right when they open. My fiancé had never tried an apple fritter before, and he couldn’t stop talking about it after his first bite!
For my mom and me, stopping at Britton’s has become a yearly tradition that we’ll never give up. There’s something so comforting about knowing your favorite spot is always just as good (if not better!) every time you go.
Thank you, Britton’s, for being such a sweet part of our...
