Read moreBasically good food. Restaurant's focus clearly is turning tables and minimizing customer feedback and food rework.
Establishment is hostile to local customers and staff like to argue when issues arise. At least one staff member decided to shout at me across the restaurant because I asked her to come back to my table over a quality issue.
Policy towards local customers seems to be to ignore people long enough that they just eat their food and will get mad and not come back.
Example:
My elderly father went there to get food and prefers eggs prepared a particular way that is not uncommon. Being that I was out of town I was happy he could go there but the eggs were not prepared the way he asked and nobody came back to his table to check if he was happy with the food so he either could: A. Not eat. B. Let the food get cold waiting for staff to get back to the table. C. Just eat it and go.
He has been back just once since then and probably won't be back.
I had a similar experience today with a young staff member who thinks that she's clever and/or the whole crew was directed to ignore me when typically any one of them will check on the table after I had previously given feedback that staff don't check back seemingly out of focus on turning tables.
Nobody even came to bring me more coffee or more water, so, message received, loud and clear.
It felt customer hostile and PERSONAL.
Further, as others have pointed out here and I've seen with my own eyes, cleanliness is an issue. The men's bathroom paper towel dispenser has been out of order for ONE YEAR.
Everyone who wants to dry their hands has to touch the paper towel roll to do it with WET HANDS.
This also smacks of just turning tables and who cares if the bathroom makes people sick during times when cold, flu and covid are prevalent.
I've spent at least $1000 and usually tip 30% here over the past year but since local business is not valued if it has a little friction I will cease doing business here.
If you want a quick meal of good quality it's hard to beat.
If you want a local place that feels like a community hangout that looks out for customers, this is not the place. It used to be, but...
Read moreI'm not one for leaving reviews but felt the need for this restaurant. I looked up the best breakfast in Williams and this had very high reviews. That was not our experience. The young man that helped us was rude and u could tell he really didnt want to do his job. We were crammed into a tiny 4 person booth with a chair for 5 of us while a large corner booth was sat with 2 people. Our table had used creamer cups and sugar on it. Then when we asked questions about items on menu he was short and curt. Had to ask for coffee refills and got attitude about it. Had to ask 2xs for more creamer and sugar. The first round of creamer and sugar a mug of creamer was sat down and a wadded handful of sugar tossed on table. After my refill I didn't see anymore creamer so I asked for more. With attitude he brought more and then saw a full mug of creamer sitting on the corner of table hidden behind a glass (again we were crammed in) and he said there a full cup of creamer right here and lifted the cup up and half slammed half tossed the cup down. Everything he did was an imposition to him. Sorry i was asking u to do ur job. Food waa nothing special. Lacking flavor and husband had to use a knife to cut his pancakes, gravy was bland, more like a white gravy not a country sausage gravy. Then I went to the bathroom OMG the most disgusting bathroom I've ever seen in a restaurant. Felt like I was at an old dirty gas station. Looked like nothing but the toilet had been cleaned in a very very long time. Walls and trim were dirty needing to be painted or at the minimum scrubbed, door and floor were filthy. Paper towel machine was broken and paper towels just sitting on top of it. Some sort of smoke detector was dirty and opened and battery was corroded. Wish I had seen this before we ate. Cant imagine what the kitchen looked like. So in my humble opinion if ur hungry in Williams run away from this restaurant and walk on over to Pine County for a great breakfast and...
