Food Coma! Mimi and I haven't been to O'Shucks in a while as we keep running weekend errands in Athens. I'd rate this a 4.5 as I recalibrated a 5 Star Review for my NYC Vacay at Michelin Star Restaurants. This is a great neighborhood seafood eats that we both like to go to being FL Girls. Normally we have the smoked fish spread. But it looked like there was a menu update and I ordered a Dozen Fully Loaded Oysters which were baked with plenty of parmesan, garlic, and bacon. I had the Monster Fried Food Combo Basket but I'm not into fries and coleslaw. They let me sub out for boiled garlic potatoes and fried okra. My platter had fried fish, oysters, jumbo scallops and jumbo shrimp. I basically took an entire filet of boneless fish home. And I'm usually a big lunch eater who orders extra seafood on the side. Mimi had Whiskey Shrimp Pasta which was a cream sauce with caramelized onions and bacon which I've had before and is really good. Today's dessert special was a Tiramisu with Espresso soaked lady fingers and thick cream topping. Mimi opted for her go to dessert of a brownie with ice cream and toppings. The service is usually always friendly and great at this restaurant. We are definitely putting this back on rotation!

Walked in and was greeted by Paige and her smiling face. Started with the fried green tomatoes. Perfection. Best I’ve ever had. The remi dipping sauce is excellent. The food came out and the plating was beautifully done. Sweet tea is true southern tea. I had the Shrimp Poe Boy, fries & side salad. Josh had the stuffed Grouper and coleslaw (absolutely original take). Hot crispy, straight out of the fryer fries with the most crisp lettuce and vegetables. And the Poe boy… the bread was toasted, buttered and the sandwich was all constructed seconds before hitting the table. Not a bite of soggy bread. Outstanding meal and experience. First time and I was blown away. They really care about the food quality here. If you get a chance, do not miss this gem!!!!!

This location is super far from where I live and about 30 minutes from the Loganville location. My first at this location but I didn't dine in though. First impressions were good! It was very clean and neat even. I'm not sure how long this location has been opened but it seems new. They don't have a sign posted for 10% tips on to go orders and I wasn't charged. I'm super happy about that. I actually got a real cup for my to go order too. The food was packed well, big difference from the Loganville location. I was really impressed! It's a big difference from the other location. Don't get me wrong, I like the other location as well. My food was good! I recommend going here if you're in the area!

Just as an update: I had shared this review previously but they deleted it.

Alright, so I’ve been here once before last night. Last night was terrible, service wise. We went an hour and a half before closing, and waited about 10ish minutes because we had a “big” party of five. We were sat and the server came by, gave us a list of drinks and walked off. After five minutes she came back to get our drink orders, and I asked if we could place our appetizers as well, as we had read over the menu. She agreed and we placed our order. It took a minute to get the drinks out, and then the appetizers themselves took about 20 minutes to come out. Mind you, she didn’t come back to take our order until the appetizers had come out. She also neglected our empty cups set at the end of the table for her convenience, so she didn’t have to reach or anything. We just wanted to make it easy for her. Walking past us three separate times, she finally asks us if we want refills, to which we agree. She disappears for another five, with just one cup full of sprite, which she split between three cups. Then a few more minutes, Diet Coke, then tea. Okay, that’s fine. There’s still a water to be poured, because someone had a water, and it takes about ten minutes before it’s filled. It’s been about thirty minutes before the food comes out, one order wrong, but our server didn’t stop by the table once to check on the order. Our friend had ordered a shrimp and fish basket, with a couple of sides, and she didn’t receive her full order. It wasn’t until the server brought the checks that we had a chance to tell her, in which she asked “Are you sure? They were on there.” We denied it, our friend never did receive the shrimp. She goes back, and the manager comes out and says “My server said you all had a question?” And to which our friend’s girlfriend stated that we didn’t have a question, we just wanted to point out that our friend was being charged for a basket she didn’t receive, she received fish and chips. We were understanding and I said that maybe it went out to a different table, to which the manager shut it down and said that SHE cooked the basket, SHE cooked the shrimp and she KNOWS she put them on that basket. They kept going on about how “I don’t know where they would’ve gone”, while shooting my friend looks. They even said that maybe a ghost got them and laughed it off. Finally as we were getting ready to leave, once they changed it to the fish and chips basket (that’s literally all we wanted to do, not even remove it from the ticket), the server reprimands our friend, telling her “Next time when you go out sweetie, make sure you tell your server when your order is wrong. You don’t want to not enjoy your meal.” Alright, that pissed us all off. Now you’re getting a poor review, because your server treated our friend like a toddler AND your management treated us as if we did something to the basket. There’s cameras. There was no need for your kitchen crew to be looking through tickets and point at our table. There won’t be a next time for us, unless we go to a different location. At least the food was better than...

Horrible service and food was mediocre at best. Where do begin.... we were sat when we came in, going to the table the waitress didn't mention low hanging objects from the ceiling (now I am only 5 ft tall, so not alot of things are low to me) when she took us to the wrong table and we had to turn around I knocked my head on a fake palm tree... (it sounds funny, but wasn't I promise haha) instead of saying "oh I'm sorry are you ok" she says "yea I do that all the time too." Now as a patron, wouldn't u think they would tell u that you may be knocked out by random objects getting to your table?!? Ok so we finally sat and I regained my dignity, well we waited and waited and ....finally the waiter came over and took our drink order and then said "is that all you will be having tonight?" I said " no we will be getting food" now I know diet coke and sweet tea are great, but they won't fill me up for dinner. So when he brought the drinks he brought Waters and not the tea and coke we ordered. So he had to go back and correct it. Now to the food. The fried green tomatoes are very bland and if u don't use the spicy dip they come with, it's like you're eating air. My spouse ordered the low country boil and when it came out, we were definitely surprised at how small it was. The crab legs cluster was the smallest thing I have ever seen. It was like a newborn crab. We hadn't even gotten a few bites in when the waiter came over and said "are you guys going to want dessert?" As much as I like to be offered dessert, I would like to get more than 2 bites of my food down, just incase I get filled up on diet coke ;). The lady that was cleaning the table next to us and was standing there and said "everything was good?" We were still eating, but it felt like she was about to start cleaning or table while we were eating. It was 7pm so it wasn't near closing and it wasn't packed, so not sure why they rushed us, but that's what it felt like. Then before I could even swallow my 3rd bite of food, we had our check on the table.. I guess they figured it wouldn't take long to eat the mini crab leg so why wait?!? Will never...

Decent enough place. We've been here a few times over the years. It never really changes much.

Somewhat overpriced and just kind of bland for the prices they charge. $2 an oyster? Kind of high, even for up here.

We had a dozen raw oysters, The crab cake appetizer and the hush puppies to start. Then the stuffed grouper and the broiled platter. With 1 drink each, just draft beers. For$110 total with tip.

Soo not worth it... these 5 star people, IDK,...they just don't know I guess. The food was good, and cooked well. No complaints there. BUT....

I'm 90% sure that the "grouper" I paid for was cod. I know grouper, Catch it, clean it. And also buy it... it's not a thick, dense fish like what they serve. I guess most don't know and they don't have an issue with serving whatever. And then to be stuffed? They just slap a cod filet on top of some basic stuffing and call it done. It wasn't bad, cooked well, but $22 for that? Jesus, I make stuffed catfish better at home for less than a third of that and even I can butterfly and half it, then stuff it. Kind of shoddy I thought.

The S/O wasn't too pleased with her broiled platter. Don't know what to say... I tried 2 shrimp and they were OK. Kind of blank but OK I thought.

It's not a bad place to eat at. Good service, great wait staff. Just WAY overpriced for the quality and actual served dishes.

We will return again, but it will be at least a...
