The team all seem unmotivated to do their job + took team communication issues out on customers.
The girl at the register was sweet, and didn't get my order completely right. I believe it was a simple misunderstanding, especially since masks and dividers make it difficult to understand each other. A few other guests also had trouble communicating the right name to put on the order. The guy making food orders, however, got visibly and verbally upset when some confusion about the name on my order occurred. There were two other orders by the same name, and he took his frustration out on the customers. A bit of team miscommunication shouldn't be taken out on guests. I understand that during the current climate, it can be difficult to be to the fullest and that many customer service employees are stretched thin (I work in food service + customer service too), but getting frustrated with customers without reason can really increase the negativity of an environment. Read moreI have visited this location multiple times before choosing to write this review. I'm a firm believer that friendliness within customer service has not gone by the wayside in society but to visit this particular tropical smoothie Cafe, it clearly has. I often stop at various tropical smoothie cafes throughout my week because I'm obsessed with the detox green island smoothie, however the only location that seems to be venominantly against friendliness, eye contact or anything that might make up a positive customer and employee interaction is this location. It's also the only location where I order an egg wrap where the eggs are mushy and grainy in texture and anytime I order extra of anything on the wrap, they take it to mean more of a silly request than something that a paying customer is requesting And I am left without. I think I'm just finally over this location in general. It's never a pleasant experience and they seem to have a different business model than...
Read moreIt was our first time trying Tropical Smoothie, and we were excited. We ordered the Peanut Butter Paradise smoothie and a bowl, which I believe was the Peanut Butter Crunch with 32 grams of protein. The smoothie was too sweet, and the bowl wasn’t what we expected—it was more like yogurt with granola rather than an açaí bowl. Unfortunately, it didn’t taste good.
At the register, the employee, Kim, encouraged us to fill out a survey, saying we would get a smoothie for $1.99. We completed it right away, before even trying our food. As soon as we finished, she walked away, and another employee told us that it actually takes up to 24 hours for the receipt to activate.
I wish Kim had been more transparent so we could have completed the survey at a more useful time. Because of this experience, I don’t plan on returning to Tropical Smoothie. Jamba Juice, Smoothie King, and Juice It Up offer much...
