A Taste of Vietnam's Finest at Vietnamese Lantern Restaurant
Our recent dining experience at Vietnamese Lantern Restaurant was nothing short of extraordinary, transporting us to the heart of Vietnam with its authentic flavors and warm ambiance. From the moment we stepped in, the restaurant's inviting atmosphere and attentive staff made us feel welcome.
To kick off our culinary journey, we started with the Coconut Milk Coffee and Lipton Ice Tea. The Coconut Milk Coffee was a revelation—smooth, rich, and perfectly balanced. It was a delightful fusion of Vietnamese coffee tradition and tropical indulgence. The Lipton Ice Tea, crisp and refreshing, setting the stage for the feast that awaited us.
For our shared appetizer, we chose the Fresh Spring Rolls—a symphony of fresh vegetables, herbs, and rice noodle wrapped in delicate rice paper. The accompanying dipping sauce added a burst of tangy sweetness, creating a perfect prelude to the main courses.
We ordered the Beef With Wine Sauce Stewed With Vegetables Served With Bread, a dish of combining bold flavors. The tender beef, slow-cooked to perfection, paired harmoniously with the rich wine sauce. The addition of fresh vegetables provided a delightful contrast, and the bread served alongside was a perfect vessel for soaking up every last drop of the savory sauce.
On the other hand, the Beef Noodle Soup—a Vietnamese classic that surpassed all expectations. The broth was a labor of love, bursting with depth and complexity, and the generous portions of tender beef and fresh herbs made each spoonful a journey through layers of flavor. It was comfort in a bowl, reminiscent of the bustling streets of Hanoi.
In summary, the Vietnamese Lantern Restaurant is a true gem, offering an authentic taste of Vietnam right in Hanoi. The thoughtfully crafted menu, attentive service, and inviting ambiance make it a must-visit for both seasoned enthusiasts of Vietnamese cuisine and those looking to embark on a flavorful journey. Whether you're savoring the iconic Beef Noodle Soup or indulging in the innovative Beef With Wine Sauce, each dish at Vietnamese Lantern Restaurant tells a story of tradition, passion, and culinary excellence. Read moreIn response to the owners reply We are not mistaken. This is a fair and accurate reflection of our experience. This is a very common response from business in Vietnam when they get bad reviews. Readers beware.
I dislike writing bad reviews as I know establishments may not always have fantastic days, but my partner and I thought this restaurant and the service 6 below average.
We came as we saw how fantastic the reviews were but left confused as to where these amazing experiences came from.
The service - we had ordered drinks which normally gets served first but we had to remind the waiter to bring the drinks as the food came which was a waiting time of 30minutes (a time frame we thought was unusually long for a vientamese restaurant that only had ourselves and one other couple in)
The food - whilst the food was edible, it was below average, not a lot of flavour. I'd advise against the fresh spring rolls especially.
The restaurants decor and cleanliness were pleasing, but the overall experience was...
Read moreReally delicious food in a comfortable, air conditioned room on a very busy street (great for people watching). We had the Hanoi specialties - bun cha (pork sizzling on a hot plate with accompaniment rice noodles, rice paper, fish sauce, lettuce) and a surprisingly tasty fish dish called Cha Ca La Vong (rice paper, rice noodles, julienned pineapple/carrots/cucumber, roasted cashews, fish sauce, and sizzling grilled fish with dill). For drinks we had a flamingo soda (strawberry, passion fruit juice, 7up and condensed milk - like a Starbucks pink drink) and Kumquat milkshake. Both were great! Go for kumquat if you want less sweet. The service was fantastic and we enjoyed thoroughly the people watching and...
