🇬🇧 English: Unfriendly waiter, tries to scam tourists by adding VAT to the bill even though the prices are not marked as VAT exclusive. He also tried to charge 35,000 instead of the 30,000 announced. I won’t go back there.

Hello,
The draft Huda beer is not listed on your menu, and your waiter told me the price was 30,000.
Yes, your staff tried to cheat me by intentionally adding VAT to a price that was already displayed inclusive of VAT. There was no mention on the menu that prices were VAT exclusive.
I never said that VAT doesn’t exist in your country. I simply said that since prices are not shown as VAT exclusive, I refuse to pay VAT twice.
Your waiter did not apologize and was not polite with us. That’s a shame, because Vietnamese people are usually wonderful.
I should not be paying VAT twice. I’m well aware that VAT exists, but you must clearly state it on your menu.
It is false that your waiter offered to cover the VAT. That is a lie. I simply refused to pay it because, as I said, the prices were not marked as excluding VAT. I’m not a cash cow. I live in your country and I know the laws. Tourists or foreigners should not be treated like cash...
Read moreWe accidentally stumbled upon Casablanca while roaming around looking for a drink after dinner and little did we know we’d end up spending the rest of the night there.
This place is awesome. They serve a great selection of cocktails and they make them very, very well - easily the best we’ve had in all of Vietnam so far. The food options include many non-Vietnamese, western options which are fantastic.
The owner, Mr T, is an absolute legend and goes around making sure all of his guests are taken care of. He told us the reason for setting up this restaurant with the food options and vibe it has is because many tourists spend a week or two in Vietnam and start to crave a western meal but there are hardly any places that make them well - as he says most local restaurants who try to replicate western foods will mix meats, use different ingredients or just can’t make it to the same standard. There’s no shame in feeling like having a pizza after two weeks of eating local foods you’re not used to!
Mr T has gone above and beyond curating the Casablanca vibe. Aside from great food and drinks, there is also a brand new pool table, poker table, and some other fun games to play if you’re with a group.
We ended up staying here most of the night, and we think if you visit this place you’ll...
Read moreCame here to play pool as Hoi An is weirdly devoid of pool tables (apart from at the Shamrock (who are crazy expensive and play really bad music really loudly)) and my god.
Great beer (a delicious local craft on tap), great music, fantastic pool table (as well as other games set up on tables), and quite simply one of the best old fashioneds I’ve ever had. I’d kind of given up on cocktails in SE Asia as they were always a let down but I just felt that Mr. T (the owner) knew his stuff and wow, I couldn’t make one better myself. I assume he makes the rest of them with as much care and attention but I couldn’t stray from my favourite.
Like the tailors here, if you pay little you’ll get little and for the price it is exceptional value. If you are missing a decent cocktail, COME TO THIS PLACE - you will not be...
