MR HA is a fake, do not believe these reviews about him being super nice and friendly. He’s super nice until he realises he can’t get money from you. Prior to already doing business with him to buy us Ba Na hill tickets. We thought he was a trustworthy business man. However, this hotel took our passport and refused to give it back unless we paid him money. He lied about us using the room when in fact it was mouldy and we asked to change rooms immediately but they said no. Mr Ha (the manager) of the hotel insisted it was hotel policy to pay the full price of one night when we had never stayed in the room, we simply booked over the phone then went to the room before immediately telling the host our room was mouldy and we wanted to change rooms. We understand the room was technically “clean”, ie: clean sheets, clean floor and bathroom. But the actual walls of the room and the smell was not safe. The room was left unscathed and we made sure to tell the host and not touch anything in the room out of respect for the fact we were not going to stay in the room, we were in the building for less than 30 minutes total. Mr ha insisted we cancelled last minute and to pay the full price of one night when it was in fact due to the room being completely not up to par and I was worried for our health due to the mould.
Not only is this bad for their business to be blackmailing tourists but to hold passports hostages is so unethical. If it was really illegal for us to leave a mouldy room then they should have called police to sort it out for us all. But to take passport themselves is definitely criminal. I really urge...
Read moreFamily Hotel is a 1-star establishment that excels at delivering a superior experience within its category. This place goes beyond expectations by offering several comforts and thoughtful services typically unseen at this level.
Our stay was notably comfortable thanks to amenities such as air conditioning (a bit noisy but effective), a balcony, a fan, a fridge, fresh towels, and complimentary bottled water daily.
The standout feature was their attentive cleaning service, which occurred every day without fail, regardless of whether the room sign (door handle hanger) was present. This level of attention to cleanliness was appreciated and unexpected.
The hospitality from Mr. Ha was exemplary. He offered valuable advice on places to visit and even recommended the best Banh Mi spot we've experienced in Vietnam. Mr. Ha also arranged for a scooter rental, making it simple and hassle-free.
Additionally, the drink prices at this hotel were unmatched in Hoi An, with beers available at just 15k VND—far more reasonable than the typical 25k VND minimum found elsewhere.
If you approach this hotel with the right expectations, knowing it’s a 1-star establishment, you'll find that it delivers a 5-star performance in every sense. It even surpasses some of the 3-star hotels we've stayed at in terms of cleanliness, thoughtful service, and value.
Family Hotel is truly a memorable place to stay when you manage your expectations...
Read moreArrived late at night after a flight to Da Nang. The hotel was dark and looked closed but staff were present when we knocked on the door, they quickly and quietly gave us our room key. The private double room with private bathroom was very basic and worn looking, but perfect for a quick stop over for a very small cost. The bed was comfy, and shower warm after a while. Tooth brushes were provided and there was a fridge in the room. No windows in the room - wasn't sure on the weather until we checked out! Breakfast was average - fried eggs with a bread roll, pancakes or fruit and choice of drinks. Staff were polite and smiley. A very basic over night stay but perfect for a cheap use of a comfy bed and a warm shower. All you need as base in Hoi An if you're travelling and not intending to spend long in...
