Visited around late Sep 2023 and had a great experience with the family at this restaurant!

The food was superb, ordered their grilled pork, it was super juicy and the sauce was very appetising. The pho soup is healing, and fried rice is also very savoury and nice. Really pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food. Price is reasonable given the good quality of the food.

The facility is also great, location near the entrance, the toilet is very clean, and the view of the river is excellent in the evening and night fall.

The restaurant staff are all very nice and courteous and would go the extra mile to check in on us. My young son was craving watermelon and the restaurant staff went to prepare and serve despite it not being on the menu. The owner was also super genuine and friendly, recommended us places to go in Hoi an, shared with us about his family, and even let our son onto his boat to take photos.

The Chó Quê is a relatively small place compared to some of Hoi An's spacious and multi-floored eateries on the riverfront. In Hoi An's traditional lemon-yellow colours, the restaurant is a bit unassuming and easy to overlook amongst a plethora of choices in the neighborhood. However, a visit to this place can be rewarding in the modestly priced food and beverages, craft draught beers, and splendid riverviews from the small outdoor seating area on the pier by the river. Boats land here, after taking tourists around the river, so it's a good opportunity for people-watching too. The riverviews by themselves are very scenic at any time of the day, but especially the evening when boats with glowing, colourful paper lanterns glide in the dark. Nous sommes arrivés vers 21h30, en nous basant sur les horaires indiqués en ligne (service jusqu’à 22h), donc normalement pas de problème. Mais dès notre arrivée, l’accueil a été particulièrement désagréable. Le serveur ne nous a ni regardés, ni salués. Aucun sourire, aucune politesse. On avait clairement l’impression de déranger. Nous avons tout de même demandé si c’était encore possible de dîner, et il nous a répondu oui. Mais à peine assis, il est revenu au bout de 30 secondes pour prendre la commande, puis encore 30 secondes plus tard, de manière insistante et sèche, toujours sans la moindre courtoisie. Le service a été froid, pressant et franchement antipathique. Cela a clairement gâché notre expérience. La cuisine était correcte, mais ça ne suffit pas à sauver la soirée. Nous avions choisi ce restaurant en nous fiant aux bons avis, mais nous avons été très déçus. Je ne recommande absolument pas cet établissement, en tout cas pas si l’accueil et le respect du client sont importants pour vous.
