Editing after owner's response: Please share your video. We would love to see how you create a video for your lies. We specifically pointed to the menu item and also confirmed on Google translate that we ordered the item. Does your video also show the one hour we waited during which many other customers left since their dishes didn't arrive? Does your video also show that after we pointed out that you got us the wrong item, you did not bring us a 'new' banh mi, but instead took the same half eaten one and brought it back with a few tofu pieces in it? (we only realized it was wrong item after eating a bit, since it was not visible from outside that there was no tofu inside). Such poor service to bring back a half eaten item after you only made a mistake. After we rejected the half eaten item you brought back, then your server looked upset and only then you told your staff to actually make new banh mi.

Does your video also show that at this point we told you to cancel the banh mi (because we were very tired of the situation and just wanted to leave)? Even after that, you tried to charge us for a banh mi that we didn't eat, and we had to insist on taking it off the bill.

Original review: Very poor experience. They got the wrong bahn mi after we waited for one hour and then got aggressive when we refused to pay for the wrong item and asked them to take it away. Food quality wasn't great either. Think the place is trying to trap the tourists who don't want to wait in the long line for bahn mi...

If you’ve been in Vietnam for any period longer than a week, you’d know that often places will ask you to leave a good review, and sometimes even offer you free food if you do so. Just know, this review is 100% genuine and authentic. I’m guilty of not leaving reviews enough, but for Huong Viet, I had to!! This was one of the best restaurants I’ve eaten in during the three weeks I’ve travelled Vietnam. I often eat veggie when abroad, so this place was PERFECT as it offered an extensive vegan menu as well as meat options for my family. It was so high up our list, we went back a second time!! I had the vegan pho which came with lots of veggies, tofu AND vegan chicken (I had vegan beef the second time). I would also highly recommend the iced salt chocolate (insaneee) and both sides: morning glory and butter oyster mushroom. It was so reasonable and the service was great. I would recommend to anyone coming to Hanoi. Authentic and delicious! (Dad says it’s also the biggest Hanoi beer bottle he’s had here and at a very affordable price, haha). They even gave us a banana each whilst we were enjoying...

I had dropped a review last Winter. I can see it disappeared. So I can only conclude the shop is able to get the embarassing reviews out of their Google page. Then I will carefully screenshot that one to document a file for Google.

This being said this is my new review :

Service : terrible. It looked painful for the staff to dare to serve me. Once the menu in hand, I could had waited forever. I turned my head many times but the staff was too busy looking at their phone. I had to stand up and walk to them to beg for my order. They thought I am a tourist probably. Mistake.

Food : clearly not fresh noodle with a broth full of MSG and heavily watered down. Not like as it was last Winter.

When I asked for a proper spoon to eat, I had to deal with 2 staff and they both gave me some attitude. They only have European soup spoon that cannot be used for Vietnamese noodle soup. You consequently have to eat your noodles like a dog.

No trash can available for each table.

Now I have the personal conviction many 5 stars are not authentic + they might find a way to delete bad reviews also...
