This was my and my girlfriends very first haunted house. They offer three levels, one for kids, one for most groups, and a "hardcore". This being our first time ever, and me being an idiot, we chose hardcore right off the bat. First thing you'll notice, it's dark, extremely dark. I'm legally blind to begin with, so I'm used to it, but even my completely sighted girlfriend was having trouble. The second thing you'll notice, at least on hardcore, is that the live actors are absolutely amazing. The very first one to interact with us had us screaming our lungs out. We did get a little turned around due to the music, and the things the actor was doing which I won't spoil. Needless to say, we were bumping in to walls. The very nice monster, still in scary mode, very politely gave us directions. In a deep, growling voice, we heard "Right, turn right, then go straight." It was very nice of him. Getting lost, and getting directions from the monsters, was a very common theme. This is partly because we were scared out of our mind screaming like little girls whenever something new popped up, but also partly due to the dark. The actors never once broke character though, even when helping the people way over there head with directions. I'd also like to point out, the very last creature sent us running down a pitch black hallway, and was very nice to warn us about a set of stairs coming up beyond a turn, so we wouldn't trip and break our necks. The actors were very interactive, and would answer questions, in their limited ability, if they were posed. Me, after losing track of one of them "Is, is he to my left or right." Him, growls quietly in to my ear from about 6 inches away. Me, "Oh, there he is, there's the nice creepy monster." All in all, this was an amazing experience, and I highly recommend it. While it was our first haunted house, we immediately left and did The House of Frankenstein, and there is no comparison. The actors and props in Draculas are far more interactive and scary, and the lady manning the desk was far more informative and helpful. They didn't accept credit, but she was all in all a much more pleasant person to interact with. I would highly recommend it. Although if you're bringing kids, don't be an idiot like me,...
Read moreWent with my son during labor day and picked the "Insane mode" for the full experience. We were told that only 1 group goes in at a time and the levels determins how far the scare actors will go without touching.
After entering we had a couple of okay scares, however when we got almost to the end where there was supposed to be at least 3 more scares, another group was behind us with their flashlight on which made the scarers back off as they dont scare the ones using flashlights so they do not get flashbanged by it since their vision is adapted to the dark.
We got to talk to a scarer inside at the end when the group with the flashlight finally left as we were able to get one last scare and the scarer was really cool and awesome to talk to, and he let us know that we missed 2 scares that was supposed to happen in the room we were in when the flashlight people showed up which never happened because of the flashlight people.
When we went to the cashier to get a partial refund they were really rude and smug and constantly said "No refunds" after they went against their word of only letting in 1 group at a time, as well as our experience being ruined by the flashlight group which was still there and addmited to using it, they still did not provide us a partial refund or anyway to contact a manager or anyone.
Overall Scarers 10/10 they were really awesome and chill (when not trying to scare you) and amazing to chat with at the end, would have been awesome to see the "insane" scares they would have pulled though.
Attraction(animatronics)- 6/10 they were pretty cool We think some may have been broken or not working properly
Cashiers/customer service- 0/10 more like negatives for being smug, unhelpful, joking with the group that was using the flashlight being like "I thought you said you can handle it and that it is easy", and only offering us another go for free even though we would know where all the scares would be and it wouldn't be the same experience since we would be expecting everything.
Worth a go at least once if you like haunted houses and only IF there is no one using...
Read moreDisappointed with Staff Behavior – Not Kid-Friendly
We recently visited Dracula’s Haunted Castle at Niagara Falls with a large group, including several children—three of them just 4 years old and four over the age of 6. We were excited to experience the attraction together, but unfortunately, our visit was overshadowed by the extremely rude behavior of a front staff member.
Two of our toddlers briefly touched a mannequin display at the front entrance—something small children are naturally curious about. While we understand that there was a sign asking people not to touch the display, the staff member chose to yell directly at the kids instead of addressing us, the parents. There is absolutely no excuse for speaking to young children that way, especially in a loud and aggressive tone.
When we calmly addressed the situation and explained that the approach was inappropriate, the employee brushed it off, saying it was loud in there and there was a note. That’s not an excuse for poor customer service or for scolding toddlers instead of speaking to the adults responsible for them.
If you have fragile props that aren’t meant to be touched, you should expect some curiosity—especially in a family-oriented tourist area—and handle it with professionalism and respect. This experience was upsetting and completely unnecessary. We won’t be returning and don’t recommend this attraction for families with...
