I will share my experience here. We went to this IHOP last week with our 1 year old Baby who was too cranky. We never thought it would take them 1.5 hours to give us our order. But finally it came. We had ordered one combo of Omelette & Pancake and a Strawberry Shake. At the time of ordering, I ordered the Omelette which had Poblano in it. With no knowledge about that, I asked the Waiter what a Poblano is, and what she did was ordered another dish that was Chicken Poblano for us. I had no idea about that, and even when she served us, my Wife asked her why are we getting two different dishes, she said it's a combo, that's why. So, without thinking much, we had the food thinking that the bill would be approximately 30-35 dollars. This was the first time we visited a IHOP, so had no idea about their dishes. After we were done with the food, the waiter came up with the bill and it was for almost $85. So, I was astonished to see that much amount and when I checked, it seemed like we were given another dish which we never ordered. I understand it's completely miscommunication and I am not blaming the Waiter at all. Then the Manager came. She was furious at us and left without explaining anything as if we committed a crime. And when I was trying to explain what all happened, she was like, "you have pay the full amount". She was unprofessional, very rude, as if she doesn't care anybody, no ethic manner towards a customer. I went upto her as she was not listening to me. I said I will pay and I am not here to bargain, but at least listen to what problems I faced today. She was giving me a bad look and her behaviour was too bad. She looked racist as well. Finally, I paid the full amount and left. Please avoid going to this store if you have self respect. I will never ever go there. Lastly, the food was just okay. The whipped cream that they used in the shake was pathetic, it tasted like butter cream. I was ripped off from these thieves. I will look at the receipt again but I think I was charged a mandatory tip as...
Read moreMe and my family of 5 took a trip this past weekend to Niagara Falls. We were told that the Canadian side of Niagara falls was more clean, nicer and would provide our family with a better overall experience. This morning we stopped for breakfast and decided to go to shop hopping for a nice family breakfast. As we entered through the restaurant we were brought into the apple bees side and was asked if we would rather sit in Ihop (where we had wanted to eat) so our obvious answer was yes. We then got a snarky comment back from the hostess which left a bad taste in our mouths before even eating. We then sat down at a table and we went to simply place our hands and menus on the table, it was like ripping off a bandaid off a fresh cut it was that sticky and gross! We waited around for 15 minutes until our waiter came up to us with the worst attitude known to man. He didn't even introduce himself all he said in a quiet tone was "Do you want coffee or water or something to drink". Then after taking our order walked away. When he brought the food he never asked if we needed anything else or ever came back to check on the taste or experience with the food. After not even being able to finish our meal due to the chalky, raw and disgusting taste of all the food and beverages, ranging from bleach taste or mouthful of grease. Our waiter Daniel then brought over the check and card reader and stood there watching as we wrote in his tip, which was very awkward and unprofessional to stand there and not even give us a chance to decide or write it in without him there. I would not recommend this IHOP to anyone staying in the area and looking for breakfast...
Read moreVery strange location, it's the top floor of a multi-level arcade. The restrooms are on the 2nd floor so you need to go down one level through the arcade. I usually try to test the local restaurants while traveling, but let's be honest most of Clifton Hill is a tourist trap with catchy places like "Boston Pizza" (did not think that was a thing?). The main reason my SO and I decided to get brunch here was because we got a voucher through the Groupon/Quality Inn for C$15 off 2 meals and a $50 USD gift card. Now in retrospect, perhaps we should have dined somewhere more affordable, since I'm pretty sure they gave us an unfavorable rate for currency conversion. Almost $4 USD for Coffee/Tea?
Anyway the initial concern was whether they would take my IHOP gift card, since I got the gift card discounted anyway from Amazon I didn't scrutinize the bill with my usual laser precision. Our server Teri was very nice and checked in on us very frequently (almost excessively) while tending to a loooong table of what seemed like 15 people. We were able to use the voucher and still had about $5.50 left on the gift card. The food was standard breakfast food and I tried their holiday pancake/meal special. My SO ordered the Chicken Florentine crepe. I tried some of his and I must say, I'm still in search of the perfect crepe to hold a candle to the one I had oddly enough in Alaska. (Maybe until I visit the real deal in France.)
Overall this location was decent, and would be considered more of a pricey brunch treat in Canada for me rather than in the US a casual...
