Oficinas Reserva Bosque Nuboso Santa Elena — Attraction in Monteverde

We visited the reserve in December 2024 in a very rainy day. However the rain could not prevent the group from receiving a very informative trip on the reserve, on its primary ring. Very well preserved tracks. Probably because of the weather we saw very little animals: a millipede, a tarantula, a stick insect, a zombie wasp, and a blue guan. Nevertheless we got very interesting stories about different plants and animals. Ariel made a very good guide and host and he seemed very knowledgeable. We visited the Santa Elena Cloud Forest Reserve during our trip to Costa Rica in January of 2025. We did the 2.5 hour general guided tour which was conducted in English. Our guide Ariel was a local expert who knew where to look, the names of the animals and plants we saw and really brought the cloud forest to a new level for us.
