BLUE CAVE TRAVEL - speedboat tour to Blue Cave & Hvar from Split,Croatia — Attraction in Grad Split

We were looking forward to visiting the blue caves, but unfortunately due to high waves that day, we were told by our boat skipper that we wouldn't be able to go for safety reasons, I was a little bit disappointed as was the rest of the tour group, but our skipper made up for it by showing us some amazing islands, it was still an epic day and a real highlight of my Croatia trip, we visited the 5 beautiful islands which were all magnificent with their own charm. HVAR was our favourite!!! We will surely return and spend a lot longer there and in Vis.

The only downside to the tour is that the speedboat travels extremely fast and the waves can be unpredictable and at times very rough, so if you get sea sick, I would advise taking some anti nausea tablets with you and not eating anything prior to getting on the boat. We booked our blue cave tour as a couple from Split on our vacation last summer. The meeting point was easy to find and the staff was very helpful and friendly. Our tour guides Kate and Ivan were really cool and made this the best day of our vacation! The playlist on board of the speedboat was great (rock and pop classics) and Kate gave us great insider tips on what to do and where to eat. She even booked us a table at a lovely restaurant in Hvar. We started our tour a little earlier than most of the other groups so that we got to the hot spots when they weren't that crowded yet. A great experience! The main appeal was obviously the Blue Cave. The time in the cave itself is short but it is so breathtaking that it is worth it. The operation of the time in the blue cave itself is by people who are based on the Bisevo island. All companies have to go through them so the experience in the cave itself will not be any different with any other company.

The green cave was fascinating too.

Our skipper was great and really made the trip more fun. He shared interesting stories, gace explanations and seemed a very good driver, doing his best to ensure the ride was not too rocky.

It was actually too cold for us to swim to fully enjoy the tour offered but we spent more time in Komiza and Hvar instead which was great.
