BLUF. Do not use this business, it’s a rip off tourist trap. Not the place if you want a good evening meal on the river and I’ll tell you why.
The modern looking boats are terrible for viewing. You know how glass turns into a mirror when it is lit one side but not the other? Well as you can see in the photo, you can’t see anything from these boats. The white interior and modern lighting turns the boat into a house of mirrors where all but the brightest lights cannot be seen outside. There was a slight dimming of the lights during the trip but not enough to change the view. Looking at the other boats they operate, it looks like the view is obscured by condensation as well. See photo (they don’t even have a viewing deck so super sucks if you’re on a smaller boat).
The viewing deck isn’t covered for some reason despite every other tour operator having covered viewing decks. So if it rains you’re stuffed, mirrors on the inside or get wet outside. Even if it isn’t raining, it likely did that day so all the tables and seats are soaked. See photo.
The buffet is pretty poor quality, it feels like a floating version of the cheap all you can eat buffets you can visit. Except because it’s floating they can charge you a huge mark up.
The live music is squirrelled away in corner and barely audible. I genuinely thought that they had lied and were just playing some old rubbish through speakers until walking off the boat I spotted them hiding behind a corner. Might as well not have been live, at least if it wasn’t the ticket might be cheaper.
It’s a cattle experience. They have crammed as many seats on as possible to maximise profit. That means long waits for the low quality buffet, slow wait staff service and a generally crowded experience. It also means that if you’re sat in the middle, you’re trying to see your reflection (see point 1) in the window past 4 or more rows of people.
35 euro per bottle of wine is the cheapest drink. Not a huge mark up for any good restaurant but this isn’t a good restaurant so I don’t believe the mark up is justified. It’s an excuse to pump more money.
For 59 euro per person, this is a tourist trap trying to take money out of your pocket at minimal cost to the operator.
Honestly, I could over look everything if I could have seen out of the boat, the whole point of the experience. I would not have cared half as much about the poor quality food if you didn’t force me to focus on it by removing the view.
This feels like a company that knows that if it can just get enough ads and flyers out to hotels, give enough kickbacks for hotels to recommend them, then they can continue to pump tourists for money and provide a hollow experience. Would give less than one...
Read moreHad amazing experience with Prague Boats. I chose the Grand Bohemia boat for an evening river cruise in Prague, and it turned out to be a truly memorable experience. As the sun sets, the atmosphere transforms into something magical—romantic, peaceful, and visually stunning. The city lights reflect off the water, and iconic landmarks like Charles Bridge and Prague Castle glow beautifully in the night. This boat features a rollable glass roof, which offers unobstructed views of the city skyline and the starry sky above. If you're lucky enough to catch a clear evening, head to the open deck after dinner—it’s the perfect spot to enjoy the fresh air and take in the illuminated cityscape. It’s a photographer’s dream, with plenty of chances for postcard-worthy shots. The buffet spread was modest but flavorful, offering authentic Czech dishes and a few international options. While the food was satisfying, alcoholic beverages are not included in the ticket price and felt slightly overpriced. A few stewards seemed a bit rude, but considering the number of guests they were attending to, it’s understandable. One thing to note—the Grand Bohemia runs on diesel, unlike some of their newer electric boats. Depending on the wind direction, you might occasionally notice the engine fumes. It didn’t spoil the experience, but it’s worth being aware of.
Tips for Travelers:
Pier Access: The pier has steps on one side and a ramp on the other, ideal for travelers with mobility needs. Choose Grand Bohemia: It’ s one of the largest boats with a rollable glass roof, offering panoramic views and spacious seating. Book in Advance and reach early: This cruise is popular and fills up quickly, especially on weekends and holidays. Early access ensure you a good place with good views Buffet Notes: The food is decent, but alcoholic drinks are not included and can be pricey—consider grabbing a drink before or after the cruise. Weather Watch: For the best experience, try to book on a day with clear skies. The city lights and reflections are breathtaking when the...
Read morePrague Boats Crystal Dinner Cruise: A Disappointing End to Our Prague Adventure
What was supposed to be a romantic and luxurious farewell to Prague turned into a frustrating and overpriced nightmare. We opted for the Prague Boats dinner cruise based on online reviews, a big mistake for $260! Considering ourselves seasoned travelers with extensive dinner cruise experience, we expected top-notch, 4-star service.
Lost in Translation: Apparently, Prague Boats forgot customer service extends beyond booking. We encountered a significant language barrier. Three different staff members couldn't understand basic English, making it impossible to even voice our concerns.
A Sip of Disappointment: Our pre-paid reservation included a bottle of wine. When we politely requested a different option, even offering to pay the difference and purchase an additional bottle, we were met with a brick wall. Three supposed "managers" all refused our simple request. It wasn't about the money; it was the blatant lack of customer service for a small price difference.
Forget Romance: The cramped tables offered zero privacy for conversation, and the loud music throughout the cruise made any attempt to connect difficult. The underwhelming buffet did little to elevate the experience. To top it all off, the boat had already set sail before we could even consider requesting to disembark.
Tourist Trap or First Class Fiasco? Prague Boats boasts high-end prices yet delivers a subpar experience. If you're looking for a genuine 4 or 5-star dinner cruise, look elsewhere! This company prioritizes packing tourists in and collecting exorbitant fees over creating a memorable experience. Save your money and avoid this tourist trap! There are far better options available in Prague.
As expected, the reply from the marketing team is that they will take note of the comments and take appropriate actions. A very polite way of saying, too bad for you! None of the mangers and/or customer service even talk about any kind of compensation. Only goes to show where their...
