Terrible! I bought a karaf wine Pinot Gris 50 cl and it was terrible. Really too sweet, not cold enough. Also in a mini glass. 18 euro is then really much. We had a table nearby the working closet of the waitresses outside.it was terrible because the whole time the waitresses hang in your neck to grap things so you'll have to bow the whole time.
Next to us was a large table and when they left she shove a table right next to us so we were eating with strangers. Really akward eating with 2 complete strangers. From all sides you were sitting close to your neighbors on the other tables almost in their lap. It was really akward. They try to place as many people on 1 m2. In Holland we would never do that.
About the dinner. We started with escargots. Not the best we've tasted but afterwards it was the best meal of that whole evening. My partner ordered a typical dinner for that region. He got a lot of meat. It was pink and we really wouldn't know from which animal it was. Really strange. I got a white fish with noodles. I asked if there were no skelet in it and she answered no. But yes there was. The noodles they cooked and put in on the plate. It was completely dry and had no taste. It was hard for me to eat that meal.
We had to pay 78 euro in total for 2 persons which was not worthy. The quality was really too low and sitting with people in your lap is not something we choose for. Even as bending over the whole time for all those waitresses. Really a pity if you want a romantic dinner because it's just the 2 of you without kids. For us...
Read moreCame here with my school on a 4 day trip to Strasbourg, the agency recommended us this location, marketing it was "A traditional Alsatian restaurant with a view of the Notre-Dame Cathedral of Strasbourg ", which I must say is untrue, we were seated on the second level where no windows could be found so we had 0 view of the Cathedral or the outside world in general, and I'm positive it generally can't be seen. The food? It was middling at best and dog food at worse... Unseasoned meatballs, frozen fries, watered down tomato sauce, meh appetizers (which were by far some of the best, unfortunately), and okay desserts, which didn't impress me in the slightest... So much for "Traditional food"... The atmosphere is terrible, no music, the room is so hot it feels as if I'm boiling, and the general vibe is not friendly at all, just very quiet and "sterile" (unlike the cutlery). However there is some light at the end of the tunnel, the service, very kind young men with good work ethic! Despite that, I sadly, would not recommend coming here, it's overpriced food accompanied by an unfriendly atmosphere and an unhygienic environment, please just spare yourself and go to the Five Guys down at the...

We had a wonderful meal at Le Gruber in Strasbourg. We opted for the three-course menu and it was an excellent introduction to Alsatian cuisine. The tarte flambée was crisp and delicious, the coq au vin with spaetzle was hearty and flavorful, and the homemade Black Forest cake was a true highlight — rich, boozy, and absolutely delicious. Portions were generous, so come hungry!
The ambiance was cozy and full of character (especially upstairs, which I’d highly recommend requesting for extra charm). The Riesling, served in a traditional ceramic pitcher, paired beautifully with the meal and added to the authentic feel.
Service was friendly and attentive, even with the staff managing a busy dining room. Making a reservation is a smart idea, as the restaurant is popular and fills up quickly. When you arrive, don’t forget to take a peek at the tempting desserts displayed in the case near the entrance.
Overall, Le Gruber offers a warm, authentic, and thoroughly enjoyable Alsatian dining experience. Highly...
