Came here on our last night in Strasboug for dinner. Ordered the choucroute, French onion soup, and a salad Strasbourgeoise for dinner and a apple strudel for dessert. The server was kind and friendly. He did not make me feel bad about my terrible attempts at French pronunciation and spoke enough English to communicate effectively.
The choucroute was a heafty serving and very tasty. We especially liked the ham portion of the plate.
The onion soup was cheesy and bready, as it should be.
The salad Strasbourgeoise was a plate with mostly cheese, a sausage, tomatoes, onions, and a small amount of lettuce in a mustard dressing. Had I realized that when it said "cheese and sausage" salad it meant that it was mostly cheese and sausage, I would have ordered something else with more greens. But c'est la vie, right?
The apple strudel was a perfect size and did not leave me feeling over stuffed. The apples were tender but not mush and the crust was light and flakey.

Read moreWe visited in August, when it was busy. The restaurant is in the centre of town, about 20 minutes' walk from the central station.
The interior was dark, clean and quite comfy. I didn't like the paper tablecloth, which felt cheap and stuck to my arm.
We ordered a Tarte flambée to start which arrived quickly and was very nice.
Then for our main course we had the sourkraut with various cuts of pork. It was nice without being special and very filling. So much so that neither my son or I finished it.
This took a lot longer to arrive, which was disappointing as we were hungry.
For dessert, we had the sundae with cherries soaked in brandy and whipped cream, which was pretty disappointing as there wasn't much to it.
Overall, for a meal costing around €75, it was okay...
Read moreWe asked for a table for four, and were seated very quickly. We sat for a few minutes and looked at the menus. The waitress asked if we were ready to order and we said we would like some desserts and drinks. We were told no, we had to order food first. I’ve eaten all over Europe and not once have I been told I need to order more than I planned on ordering. This is highly unusual. Everyone else’s food looked delicious, we just weren’t hungry and we had been walking around for an hour looking for a place that had an open table and crème brûlée but they wouldn’t serve us. I understand they want to make money, but drinks and and dessert would have been €45-€50 and we would have been out of there in maybe 30 minutes, leaving the table open again for...
