I've been on a lot of tours in Dublin and rest of Europe and this is probably the worst. In fairness: how much you enjoy this tour depends a lot (not completely though) on the tour guide and the one we had was abysmal. Additionally, for comparison, this tour costs more than thrice as much as an hourly tour of the Seine (Paris) with a knowledgeable multilingual guide.

From the past reviews, I gathered this trip was about touring Dublin city area and learning a little bit about the history of a place and having a fun ride in the canal. Our guide had no interest in anything but himself and jokes/anecdotes about himself. Without exaggeration, he kept talking about himself for about 70% of the time. He managed to make people on the boat uncomfortable, especially some young ladies who made the mistake of sitting at the front near the guide/driver's seat. He kept harassing them with inappropriate jokes. He was unable to take a hint from their uncomfortable laughter. At one point, he was asking to "borrow their teats". In any other professional setting, he would be fired for harassment but I guess we hold tour guides to a lower bar in the pretense of "humor". It wasn't just one time either. He. Kept. Going. On and on about it! He simply wouldn't stop talking about the girl's breasts. We had young kids with us who had the sense to understand how uncomfortable he was making the girls at the front.

The guide seemed to not understand the difference between laughing with someone and laughing at someone. At one point, he honked at a passerby lady and made her spill her coffee. I heard my seatmate whisper to his neighbor, "I feel complicit". I would never recommend this trip to anyone. Again, I understand there are some fun and hardworking guides with the company. Unfortunately, I won't be back to give them a chance to change my mind.

Now, apart from the guide's quality, if you take this trip on a typical Dublin day, you're going to be stuck in traffic for a considerable amount of time. This can be fun if you have a good guide, which we did not. I think part of the blame rests on the company because a good company should choose and train their...

We recently had the pleasure of partaking in the Viking Splash Tour, and we couldn't be more thrilled about the experience. The moment you step onto the amphibious vehicle, you're transported back to the Viking era, with hilarious commentary and a vibrant city tour.

We feel compelled to commend our tour guide, Pat, who was not just a guide but a phenomenally entertaining host. Pat's charismatic and jovial personality interacts with all passengers but also the pedestrians along the tour. His hilarious quips and stories kept us laughing throughout the tour, making the experience truly engaging and fun-filled. He has a wonderful knack for keeping the crowd involved, turning the tour into more than just sightseeing but an interactive historical journey.

Pat's depth of knowledge about the city's history and comedic timing truly elevated the tour. His funny anecdotes made history digestible and memorable for all ages, and his enthusiasm was contagious. By the end of the tour, we were all chanting like Vikings, completely absorbed in the experience.

The Viking Splash Tour is undoubtedly a unique way to explore the city, but Pat's exceptional guidance and true authentic craic made it a truly memorable adventure. I would recommend this tour to anyone visiting the city, and particularly those who appreciate humour, history, and a bit of splashy fun.

So, if you're looking for an entertaining and educational ride through the city, don't miss out on the Viking Splash Tour, and make sure to ask for Pat as your tour guide! You'll come away with a smile on your face and a wealth of knowledge about the city's...

We did your tour recently, the 12pm tour, and I felt compelled to provide you feedback. The tour guide was rude, crass, opinionated, and instead of highlighting the beautiful sights of Dublin he was cynical, sarcastic and generally critical about some of the developments, bridge cost, city art etc.

He swore continually throughout the tour, with many young kids on board, ranting about his own views, yelling out to people on the street, and being generally very inappropriate.

He also spoke too fast, so you could barely understand what he was saying, just generally talking thought a script but not engaging the audience, or ‘reading' the audience to create a great experience.

This tour guide is definitely not suitable for children (a large portion of your customers I would say given the type of tour), and generally presents as extremely unprofessional. Ive read your reviews back to April 23, and over 18 months there is a huge amount of poor feedback relating to the same guide, his name is Chris, which you seem to have given hollow appologies for, and done nothing about.

This probably will be yet another email to provide matching feedback which you already know, that your tour guide Chris is damaging your business and reputation.

I sent a email first to provide feedback and was hoping to get a response, but have not received a response and therefore are now publishing this online.

Generally we are really unhappy and dissatisfied with our tour experience and it seems like this is just a money grab opportunity without really being concerned if the guests have a...

If you're looking for a city tour with a twist, the Viking Splash Tour is a fantastic (and slightly chaotic) way to explore Dublin. It’s part history, part comedy, and part theatrical performance—all rolled into one bright yellow amphibious vehicle. The tour is a huge hit with kids of all ages, even if it’s just because they get to laugh at you in a horned Viking helmet. The guides are brilliant—funny, engaging, and skilled at getting even the grumpiest teenagers to play along. Let’s be honest, who wouldn’t enjoy driving through the streets of Dublin in an open-top “boat,” shouting mock Viking roars at unsuspecting pedestrians? We definitely drew attention and felt like celebrities on parade. We took the tour with a 5-year-old and realized it might be a bit too soon age-wise—the younger ones may struggle to sit still or fully enjoy it. For adults, though, I highly recommend it. Just be aware that the helmets (given to every adult and child) aren’t cleaned between uses, so bring some sanitizing wipes if that’s a concern. Also, the plastic leis they give you tend to fall off constantly—you’ll likely end up holding them in place. The best part by far was when the vehicle plunged into the water. That thrilling moment made all the small inconveniences totally worth it. One thing to note: there are no toilet breaks during the tour, so plan accordingly before you board. A special shout-out to our guide—he was phenomenal. He completely committed to his role and brought infectious energy to the whole experience. It's always a pleasure to see someone so passionate about what they do.

Viking Splash is an absolute must see attraction in the heart of Dublin City. Offering a delightful blend of history, humour, and adventure, this tour is a must-visit for anyone looking to immerse themselves in Irish Viking history. The knowledgeable guides provide fascinating insights into the history of the Vikings, Normans, and the intricate relationship between Irish, English, and Norse cultures. As you explore the city centre, you'll be regaled with captivating tales of Dublin's past, including its role as Ireland's unnoticed hub of European slavery during the Viking era - a fact that is both shocking and enlightening. The tour's unique combination of informative commentary and Irish charm creates a truly engaging experience, ensuring that visitors of all ages are thoroughly entertained. The highlight of the tour is undoubtedly the ride on the water, offering a refreshing perspective of the city and its rich maritime history. Families, in particular, will appreciate the entertaining blend of history and comedy, making it the perfect outing for a fun-filled hour of learning and laughter. In conclusion, Viking Splash is a delightful attraction that seamlessly weaves together history, humour, and entertainment. Don't miss the opportunity to embark on this unforgettable journey through Dublin's past - it's an experience that deserves a spot on every tourist's itinerary.
