The Lotrščak Tower is a fortified tower in an old part of the town called Gradec or Gornji grad (Upper Town). The tower, which dates to the 13th century, was built to guard the southern gate of the Gradec town wall. The name is derived from Latin campana latrunculorum, meaning "thieves' bell", referring to a bell hung in the tower in 1646 to signal the closing of the town gates. Interesting little piece of history indeed. There are some historical explanations about this building and it’s uses back in the days until it’s uses today throughout the several stories of the building. If one wants to capture beautiful photos, one should pay a visit during sunset time, as he will have the opportunity to observe the whole city of Zagreb, painted by the colors of the sun.
