My visit to the Astrek Climbing Wall in Kathmandu was an exhilarating experience. Situated conveniently in Thamel, this climbing center offers a unique escape from the usual hustle and bustle of the city. As someone who enjoys physical challenges, I found the facility to be a perfect spot for adventure enthusiasts like me.

The climbing wall itself is impressive, standing tall with various routes catering to different skill levels. As a beginner, I appreciated the friendly guidance from the staff. They were patient, encouraging, and provided a thorough safety briefing before I started. The rental gear, including climbing shoes and harnesses, was in good condition, which gave me additional confidence as I tackled the wall.

One of the things I liked most about Astrek was the vibrant and welcoming atmosphere. I saw climbers of all ages and skill levels, creating a community-like vibe that made the experience even more enjoyable. For those more advanced, there were challenging overhangs and routes that seemed to push even seasoned climbers to their limits.

The open-air setup of the climbing area added to the charm. I loved how it felt connected to nature despite being in the heart of a busy tourist hub. The center also offers refreshments and a cozy seating area, making it a great place to relax after a climb.

On the downside, the facility could benefit from more shaded areas or fans during hot days, as it can get quite warm. However, this didn’t overshadow the overall fun I had.

Astrek Climbing Wall is a fantastic spot for both beginners and experts to test their skills, stay active, and meet like-minded people. I left feeling accomplished and eager to return for...

I recently had the opportunity to visit the Astrek Climbing Wall in Thamel, and it was an unforgettable experience. As the tallest climbing wall in Nepal, this place is a must-visit for anyone interested in rock climbing. What sets this place apart is the variety of pricing structures they offer.

If you have a partner to belay each other, you can rent the necessary gear and pay a small fee to climb. However, if you're new to climbing or don't have a partner, Astrek Climbing Wall has belay staff who will help you choose your level of difficulty and assist you throughout your climb.

The climbing wall itself is incredible, and the views from the top are simply breathtaking. I was amazed at the variety of routes available, from beginner to advanced, and the staff were always on hand to offer advice and encouragement. The equipment was top-notch, and I felt safe and secure throughout my climb.

The pricing structure was very reasonable, and I appreciated the flexibility they offered. Whether you're a seasoned climber or a complete beginner, there is an option that will suit your...

This place is pretty awesome, with 7 belay stations, a bouldering wall, grip challenges, a foosball table, surrounded by fun shops, a couple of restaurants and a in house bar/grill you can easily spend a few hours here and it feel like minutes.

We never had to wait very long to be able to climb, food was pretty tasty and the service was fast.

While the drinks and food were a little higher in price than we would have liked, it’s thamel so you cant expect much when it comes to value.

For the year it costs 17,500 per person, for a month its 6000, and per session its 700. This includes climbing gear needed and someone to belay you. You can bring your own gear if you have it.

My wife and I will definitely be back to do some computer work and climb in-between...

The climbing gym is small but perfect for beginners, they rent the necessary equipment for rent, organize belay and belayer if you want to climb with the upper belay, explain the initial level of classes, there are routes separated in colors for climbing with a rope, about 6 ropes of the tracks, there is a corner and there is a small overhang An open air climbing climbing, in the evening there is a backlight, also small horizontal bars for pull -ups and exercises. The staff is very friendly like a company of people that was engaged in that day .

Nice location in the heart of thamel. Car parking is a bit clumsy there. We, 6 people went there on Fulpati, they were open when we called and confirmed with them. But they have only few staffs and few menus to serve (actually just 2). However, the rock climbing experience and the support guys were great. Only 2 guy handled almost 20+ climbers.. though available 7 attempts out frm Rs 700, we only could attempt few rounds due to less support crew there.. Definitely a yes place, who loves climbing.
