Save for your visit to the cotswolds 👇🏾 The cotswolds is a place for slow living, rest and relaxation. Best time to visit in my opinion is autumn, less crowded and very peaceful! Towns to visit that are close to each other: Merton in marsh, Bourton-on-the-Water, stow on the wold, burford. Upper and lower slaughter. Places to stay: @oldbankrooms @princeofburford Things to do: walk along the Bourton bridges, visit the car museum, visit the model village. Visit all the antique shops along the cobbled streets. Have afternoon tea! Where to eat: Burton - The willow pub - all day menu and open til late. Tips: rent a car or call all your taxis WAY in advance (the day before is best. There is NO UBER) Take your pooch! It’s dog heaven! #thecotswolds #autumn #cotswolds #britishlife #visitbritain #visitthecotswolds

*Review of the Cotswold Motoring Museum at The Old Mill, Bourton-on-the-Water** The Cotswold Motoring Museum, housed in The Old Mill in the idyllic village of Bourton-on-the-Water, is a hidden gem for car enthusiasts and history lovers alike. From the moment you step inside, you’re taken on a nostalgic journey through the golden age of motoring, with an impressive collection of vintage cars, motorcycles, and memorabilia. The museum’s exhibits are beautifully curated, offering a fascinating glimpse into the evolution of British motoring. Classic cars from different eras are meticulously restored, showcasing everything from early 20th-century models to post-war classics. You’ll find yourself marveling at the iconic vehicles on display, such as the timeless Morris Minors, the elegant Austin Sevens, and even the famous "Brum" car from the beloved children's TV series—adding a fun element for younger visitors. What really sets this museum apart is the attention to detail and the atmosphere it creates. The old-world charm of The Old Mill adds to the experience, with the displays spread across various rooms and levels, each filled with not just vehicles, but also period-specific signage, petrol pumps, and motor-related artifacts. The displays are interactive and informative, making it a learning experience for both motorheads and casual visitors alike. In addition to the cars, the museum offers a wonderful sense of nostalgia, with sections dedicated to vintage caravans, retro toys, and even old-fashioned shops. It’s a place where memories come flooding back for older generations, while younger visitors are given a window into the past. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, always willing to share interesting facts and stories behind the exhibits. The museum’s layout encourages exploration, and you could easily spend a couple of hours soaking in the rich history of motoring. Located right by the river in one of the Cotswolds’ most picturesque villages, the Cotswold Motoring Museum is a must-visit. Whether you’re passionate about cars or simply looking for a unique way to spend an afternoon, this museum delivers a delightful blend of education, entertainment, and nostalgia in a charming setting

I recently visited the Cotswold Motoring Museum & Toy Collection, and it was a fantastic experience! The museum has an incredible collection of classic cars and motorbikes, each one beautifully restored and displayed. You can find everything from vintage Austins and Morris Minors to iconic Minis and even some rare models that you don't often see. The motorbike collection is equally impressive, with classic British bikes that showcase the history of motorcycling. What really stood out was the attention to detail in each exhibit. The cars and bikes are surrounded by authentic memorabilia, giving you a real sense of the era they came from. There's also a wonderful collection of old toys, including tin cars, dolls, and model trains, which brought back a lot of childhood memories. The museum is full of history, not just about the vehicles but also about the people who owned and loved them. The whole place has a warm, nostalgic atmosphere, and the staff are knowledgeable and passionate about the collections. It's clear they take great care in preserving these pieces of history. Whether you're a car enthusiast or just looking for a charming day out, I highly recommend a visit to the Cotswold Motoring Museum & Toy Collection. There's something for everyone to enjoy!

Situated in the beautiful village of Bourton-on-the-Water and in keeping with the charm of the place, is one of the smaller - and therefore more intimate, collection of old cars and memorabilia around. The display rooms are packed with motor vehicles and more nostalgic signs and vehicle related tranquilments than you could imagine. Any one of the motoring accessories would be a delight in a display-case at home, but there are literally thousands of them to look at here. You can get right up close to the vehicles and they are displayed so that you can see inside of them - which you often cannot do in some museums. Some of the displays themselves feature auto-motons (real old school but appropriate). Spot some photos of real celebrities placed inside some of the cars associated with them - quite amusing :-) If you are into toys then there are three key things to look at. The museum is the home of Brum (the tv show), with associated paraphenallia, It also contains thousands of toy cars, trucks etc, and finally, it has a large display of 1:76 scale cars for sale (Oxford series) in the reception/gift shop. Very friendly staff, and I would go back to spend more than a couple of hours next time. BTW, the 'guide book' is worth buying.
